Pingguo Guizhonghua pig is produced in 12 townships in Pingguo City, including Matou Town, Xin'an Town and Guohua Town, and the protection area of geographical indications of agricultural products is 2485 square kilometers.

Pingguo Guizhonghua pig breeding has a long history and has begun hundreds of years ago. According to the "Chronicle of Pingguo County", the Pingguo Guizhonghua pig is a species belonging to the county, distributed in the communes of Liming, Bangwei, and Fengwu in the county. After continuous natural selection and artificial selection, a breed of flower pigs with strong physique, solid limbs, strong disease resistance, tolerance to rough feeding and stable genetic performance has been formed. In 2018, the Pingguo Guizhonghua pig was registered and protected by the National Geographical Indication of Agricultural Products.
The mountain range in Pingguo is rolling and belongs to the subtropical monsoon climate zone, with strong light and sufficient heat. There are 36 large and small rivers in the city, and the water source is sufficient. The crop yield in the production area is stable, which provides good material conditions for the breeding of osmanthus pigs. Pingguo Guihua pigs are fed with corn, wild vegetables, wild grasses, potato vines and other crops, and the feed source is ecologically healthy.
Pingguo Guihua pig is well-known in and out of the region for its good adaptability, strong disease resistance, high reproductive rate, good quality, fresh meat color, and delicious fragrance. In recent years, Pingguo has increased product research and development and extended the industrial chain, and the Guizhong flower pig industry has developed into a characteristic industry of Pingguo and an advantageous pillar industry that promotes agricultural income.
