The Jacksonville Jaguars made the mistake, the San Francisco 49ers made the mistake, and it seems like Blaine Gabbert does have the NFL starting quarterback standard.
With his first season at the Arizona Cardinals, Gabert gradually gained traction again.
Coach Bruce Arians noted that Gabert has a chance to be the NFL's starting quarterback, and he thinks Gabert has a chance to replace Carson Palmer at some point in the future.
Bruce said: "I'm confident about that, in the short term I'm confident in his performance, and in the long run if he continues to perform like this, he will be the starter. ”
Gabert was the No. 10 picker in 2011, but lost 31 of his 40 starting games in his career, during which time he completed 38 passes and touchdowns, but 37 interceptions, and a quarterback rating of just 71.5.
There's speculation that Bruce says this because he doesn't want Drew Stanton to show his face in the regular season, and of course palmer is best for the Cardinals to be able to stay healthy for 16 games.
