Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Blaine Gabbert is likely to head to the Arizona Cardinals.
A reporter for the National League Football Newspaper revealed on Tuesday that the Cardinals were negotiating with free agent quarterback Gabert.
Gabert, 27, finished 56.9 percent of his passing success rate in five games with the 49ers last season, advancing 925 yards and five touchdowns and six interceptions, but was taken away by Colin Kaepernick in the sixth week of starting.
Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer is at the heart of the team, but due to injury and age the team has to make a perfect backup plan, especially a substitute veteran quarterback Drew Stanton did not inspire Palmer enough. And Gabert as a former show will be a good competitiveness for the team in the future.
