On December 18, the 9th Xuanyuan Award was announced in Wuhan. The Xuanyuan Award for China's Car of the Year was won by Gaohe HiPhi X and GAC Trumpchi Shadow Leopard.
It is reported that the Ninth Xuanyuan Award is evaluated based on three dimensions: the first is the product and technological innovation of user experience, the second is the contribution to low-carbon and low-cost mobility, and the third is the contribution to the internal development of China's automotive industry.
The entire selection lasted 108 days. Officially launched on September 1, 2021, a total of 75 models were declared for input competition, and after nearly 40 preliminary evaluations by the technical, design and media advisory panel, 36 models were selected for comprehensive testing at the Xiangyang National Automobile Quality Supervision and Testing Center.
In the 10-day test, 36 models were tested by four professional teams from the National Automobile Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, SoCar, PATEO, and Heduo Technology in multiple dimensions such as vehicle dynamic and static, NVH, scene experience, HMI human-computer interaction, voice AI capability, automatic assisted driving, and automatic parking, and finally 20 models were nominated to enter the final review.
On the 17th, after analyzing and discussing the test reports of 20 models, the members of the jury selected 10 of the annual top ten cars, of which Gaohe Auto HiPhi X and GAC Trumpchi Shadow Leopard stood out from the top ten of the year and won the "Xuanyuan Award China Car of the Year" award.
The jury believes that in a market where new products for electric vehicles are emerging, Gaohe Auto HiPhi X embodies a new understanding of the luxury of technology in Chinese cars. With its unique body proportions and multi-screen linkage interior design, this car shows a sense of static luxury, achieves excellent dynamic performance with flexible control, excellent NVH experience, good acceleration feeling at high speed, and opens up a co-creation practice that directly faces the user experience with diversified human-computer interaction.
Ding Lei, founder and chairman of Gaohe Automobile, said in his acceptance speech: "We have been building cars for decades, at the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, we wanted to build cars that are completely different from traditional cars in the past, so at that time we proposed a scene definition design, a car must start from the use of the scene, and then software-defined cars to create definition value." ”
GAC Trumpchi Shadow Leopard's reason for the award was that "in the market where the penetration rate of electrification is increasing, this car has begun to build China's own street car culture, finding a new path for the development of traditional fuel vehicles."
