Eric Patrick Clapton is a British musician, singer and composer born on 30 March 1945. Although his style is varied, most of his works are based on the blues style. A Grammy Award winner, he was one of the most successful musicians of the 20th century, with three achievements in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, ranking fourth in the Rolling Stones Magazine's 100 Best Guitarists in 2003 and 53rd among the Top 100 Rock Artists. Although Clapton's style is varied, most of his works are based on the blues style. He was a reformer of music, and his major contributions included blues rock (during "John Mayall and the Blues Breakers") and psychedelic rock (during "Cream Band"). Clapton used a Gibson Paul guitar in the Beatles' album "When My Guitar Sobbed Softly." He lent his SG guitar to singer Jack Romag, and soon after the Romper guitar was sold to musician Todd Landgren for $500, and the Roundgren guitar was rebuilt and named "Sunshine", named after the song "Sunshine of Love". Roundgren loved the guitar so much that he used it in the mid-1970s until he retired it in 1977. In 2000 he re-repaired the guitar and sold it for $150,000 at an auction. (Image from Oriental IC)
