In October 1925, a poor peasant family living in Beishanyang Village, Kouzi Town, Laiwu County, Shandong Province, ushered in the birth of his third child, and his parents named him Teng Xiyuan.
After that, the parents gave birth to two younger brothers, the family had a very difficult life, it was a turbulent era, the poor family could not even eat, unfortunately, Teng Xiyuan's family was one of them. When he was very young, his parents unfortunately died, and the five children in the family could only grow up with small ones, and it was difficult to grow up.

The family's conditions could not feed so many people, so the eldest brother had to go to the army and eat mixed food. The second brother later joined the revolution. At first, the brothers could also take time to come back with food to visit their brothers and tell them about the experience of the army.
Later, the world became more chaotic, the war was frequent, the two brothers could not go home to visit, and Teng Xiyuan, who was not yet ten years old, had to beg for food everywhere to support his two younger brothers.
However, in the chaotic world, everyone was in danger, and it was difficult to beg for food, and Teng Xiyuan's youngest brother, because he had no food, could only die of starvation.
Under the crazy attack of the Japanese army, the Japanese-occupied area quickly spread to Teng Xiyuan's hometown, and the scene of the Japanese Kou killing the Chinese compatriots fell into the eyes of Teng Xiyuan, who was begging for food along the street. Although he was young at that time, he was also aroused by this scene, so he decided to become a soldier, fight against the Japanese, and defend his family.
So Teng Xiyuan came to the Laidong County Brigade in his hometown and asked to join the armed forces of the War of Resistance.
But he was only thirteen years old at the time, and chronic malnutrition had left him thin and dark-skinned. So the political commissar of the county brigade saw him for the first time and felt that the child was too young to take him in.

However, Teng Xiyuan, who was thin and dark when he joined the county brigade, had a sense of presence in the county brigade, which was not high at first, until he first hand-bladed the enemy.
In the spring of 1940, during a mission, Teng Xiyuan was blocked in the village of Beishanyang by the Japanese puppet army that came to sweep up. Under the leadership of the traitors, two warriors have been unfortunately captured, and it seems that Teng Xiyuan will also be discovered by the enemy who came to search for them. At the critical moment, he did not panic, escaped from the wall one step ahead of the enemy, and began to retreat quietly.
On the way, Teng Xiyuan also encountered two other fighters who had escaped from the tiger's mouth, and the three of them met and retreated outside. However, in order to prevent the anti-Japanese forces from escaping, the enemy sealed the exits of the village, so they quietly retreated to the village and hid, preparing to wait for the enemy to leave before withdrawing.
After a while, a single Japanese soldier came in the direction of Teng Xiyuan, who was lying on top of the pigsty and letting the wind blow. Seeing that the enemy was single, Teng Xiyuan consulted with the other two warriors and killed him together.
Saying that, Teng Xiyuan immediately grasped the weapon he was carrying, a dagger tightly, and when the enemy approached the pigsty, Teng Xiyuan jumped down from above, jumped on the head of the Japanese soldier, and took advantage of the situation to flip it to the ground, and then the other two quickly rushed out, dead control of the enemy's hands and feet, Teng Xiyuan grabbed the dagger and stabbed at the enemy, quickly killing the enemy. This time Teng Xiyuan became famous in battle, but this was only the beginning of his heroic battle.
In the blink of an eye, it was already summer, and the enemy's sweeping did not achieve success, so he began to launch a large-scale attack on the anti-Japanese base area in Luzhong.
During this period, the anti-Japanese armed forces led by the Eighth Route Army and them broke out several fierce encounters, and Teng Xiyuan's county brigade was no exception, following the large troops and fighting a big battle with the enemy in the Yangjiaheng area.

Teng Xiyuan looked at the advancing enemy in the distance, remembering his brother's often saying that the thief would capture the king first, and he raised his gun and shot a Japanese rider, causing the enemy to fall into a brief panic. However, the Japanese army, which had always been known for its well-trained training, quickly stabilized its position and rushed up.
After Teng Xiyuan shot and killed several enemies, the bullets had run out. At this time, the enemy had already rushed to the position, so he took up his bayonet and rushed over to engage the enemy in a white-knife battle.
In the melee, an enemy's bayonet stabbed into Teng Xiyuan's arm socket, and the blood was instantly poured out. Teng Xi ignored the pain, gritted his teeth and pulled out the bloody bayonet inserted in the creaky nest, and wiped the enemy's neck with his backhand to successfully annihilate the enemy.
At the end of an encounter, Teng Xiyuan killed 6 enemies and was awarded the first class merit, Liao Rongbiao, as the commander of the fourth detachment, could not help but praise him as an expert in fighting devils, and then rewarded him with a shell gun, which was later the first Mauser pistol in his family, when Teng Xiyuan was only fifteen years old.
In the days of the Later War of Resistance, Teng Xiyuan used that gun to kill countless enemies and became a well-known anti-Japanese hero.

In July 1947, after successive all-out offensives against the Kuomintang forces and victories such as the Battle of Menglianggu, the Two Sides entered a stalemate.
In order to contain the enemy and achieve the goal of encircling the points for reinforcement, Su Yu aimed at the Kuomintang Reorganized Eleventh Division stationed in the Nanma area.

After the enemy entered the ravine, a grenade was thrown down by Teng Xiyuan, and after the explosion, he shouted: "You are already surrounded by us, hurry up and surrender!" At the same time, a shot was fired into the sky.
At that time, it was late, and the enemy who did not know the enemy's situation still thought that he was really caught in the encirclement, and for a time he only dared to hide on the spot.
However, after waiting for a long time, he did not find that the People's Liberation Army had surrounded him, so he planned to evacuate first. At this moment, the slopes on both sides suddenly sounded an overwhelming shout of killing, and the large troops that heard explosions and gunshots came, truly encircling the Kuomintang army of more than 200 people, and immediately launched a fierce battle, successfully eliminating this enemy force.
Teng Xiyuan, 22 years old, because he successfully delayed the pace of the enemy's retreat, played a very crucial role in the great victory of our army this time, and was once again awarded the first class merit.
