At present, it is the season when strawberries are on the market, in addition to the traditional strawberry varieties such as Hongxia and Tianxian Drunk, in the strawberry greenhouse of Fengjing Shen's Agricultural Products Cooperative, the strawberry variety "pineappleberry" newly introduced by grower Shen Jianping has officially entered the picking period, providing a good place for citizens to pick leisurely.
Walking into the strawberry planting greenhouse, a sweet aroma greets you. Looking around, I can only see that above the emerald green plants, a pink and white strawberry protrudes from time to time between the green leaves and white flowers, and the pink color is endearing.
Shen Jianping told reporters that this is her newly introduced strawberry variety this year - "pineapple berry", which has just been listed and the amount of picking is not very large. "Don't look at the strawberries here are not big, but they are delicate, sweet and juicy."
Because it is superior to ordinary strawberries in terms of appearance and taste, the market sales price of "pineapple berry" is also higher than the price of traditional varieties of strawberries. At present, the price of cooperatives is about 60-80 yuan / catty, and ordinary red strawberries are around 40 yuan / catty.
It is reported that "pineapple berry", as a new strawberry variety promoted in Jinshan District this year, is selected through wild strawberries on the Tibetan plateau, and after repeated experiments and screening, the seedlings have the characteristics of strong disease resistance and high survival rate. The skin and pulp of the ripe "pineapple berry" are milky white and light pink, and the taste is delicate, which is sweeter than red strawberries.
At present, the cooperative grows more than 10 acres of strawberries, of which 5 acres are "pineapple berries". Due to the temperature, most strawberries are not yet ripe, and only a small amount can be picked. It is expected that a large number of markets will be available from New Year's Day to spring festival, and the harvest period can be extended to the end of April.
