On July 5, Lei Jun, chairman of Kingsoft, issued a letter to all employees of Kingsoft. He said in the letter that 2021 is the tenth year of Kingsoft's comprehensive transformation of the mobile Internet, and it is also the tenth year of his tenure as chairman of Kingsoft. In the past decade, Kingsoft has achieved a combined revenue of less than 1 billion yuan in 2010 to a consolidated income of 12 billion yuan in 2020, which is a fruitful result of the joint efforts of Kingsoft colleagues.
In this regard, Lei Jun said that he prepared a "special souvenir" for all the regular employees of Kingsoft Group: 600 shares of Kingsoft Group shares were given to each Kingsoft employee, totaling about 4.8 million shares.
On the same day, Kingsoft (03888. HK) announced that the Board of Directors, in accordance with the terms of the revised Scheme, granted 600 Incentive Shares to no more than 8,000 Grantees, for a total of no more than 4.8 million Incentive Shares.
The purpose of the award is to recognize the contribution of existing employees to the achievements and development of the Group and to motivate and encourage employees to remain in the Group and to work hard to promote the future development and expansion of the Group.
Kingsoft opened on July 5 at HK$44.60 per share, resulting in a market capitalization of about HK$26,760 (about 22,301 yuan) and a market value of about HK$214 million (about 178 million yuan) for 4.8 million shares.
Lei Jun said in the letter that as a veteran technology company transformed from general software, Kingsoft resolutely threw away the shackles when the tide of mobile Internet surged up, braved challenges, and finally realized the successful layout of the mobile Internet in the three major business sectors of Kingsoft Office, Game Business and Kingsoft Cloud.
On November 18, 2019, Kingsoft Office (688111) was listed on the Science and Technology Innovation Board, with a current market value of about 178.407 billion yuan. In terms of game business, the operating income in 2020 increased by 410% over 2010, and Xishanju's flagship terminal game "Sword Net 3" earned more than 10 billion yuan and accumulated 120 million users. Kingsoft Cloud (NASDAQ: KC) was founded with an eight-year compound growth rate of 158%, and landed on the NASDAQ on May 8, 2020, with a current market capitalization of about $7.046 billion.
Previously, on July 2, Lei Jun's Xiaomi Group (1810. HK) announced that the company's board of directors granted a total of 70.232 million shares of Xiaomi shares to 3,904 employees of the group under the share award program.
