FASTlink is a coupling tool for OrcaFlex and FAST analysis starting with OrcaFlex version 9.8a.
FAST (Fatigue, Aerodynamics, Structures, Turbulence) is an open source software for wind turbine dynamics computing developed by US National Renewable Energy Labortory (NREL), the latest version of which is OpenFAST.
FAST calculates the aerodynamic loads, responses and fan control and power output of the fan, and OrcaFlex calculates the hydrodynamic loads, mooring loads and responses of the platform, and FASTLink couples the two systems.
However, since OrcaFlex added wind turbine functionality from version 10.3, it is possible to complete the simulation calculation of wind power systems in OrcaFlex, and FASTlink has thus become a tool of history.
