Hello everyone! Today to introduce to you, the Tang Dynasty cultural relics "Changsha Kiln Painted Flowers and Birds Pattern Note", height 22.7 cm, caliber 11 cm, bottom diameter 12.2 cm.
Note skimmer, broad neck, melon prismatic long round abdomen, six prismatic streams on one side of the shoulder, crank on the other side. Apply a blue glaze throughout. The abdomen depicts a flower and a giant bird in underglaze brown color, and the brown lines are painted with underglaze green color.
This vessel is full of shape, there are brown and green colors under the blue glaze, and the pattern lines are smooth, which is a rare treasure of Changsha kiln porcelain in the Tang Dynasty.
The Changsha kilns of the Tang Dynasty fired a large number of underglaze painted porcelain. It broke through the single glaze color of celadon porcelain, enriched the decorative technology of Tang Dynasty porcelain, and created a precedent for underglaze colored porcelain in later generations. From a large number of physical observations, the initial form of such decoration is a single brown color spot, and later, it evolves into a fine brown green color spot.
The decorative content developed from spotted patterns to flowers, birds and animal patterns, and some used architectural or poetic themes such as pagodas. The decoration method is to paint the ornament on the raw blank with the help of a brush, and then cover it with a transparent glaze and burn it at high temperatures. The color of the pigment is unchanged after high temperature treatment. In addition to being good at porcelain color and decorative content changes, Changsha kiln craftsmen also created many practical and beautiful utensils in shape.
In particular, the number of shapes of the note can be called second to none in the Tang Dynasty. Take the injection as an example, there are straight mouth, washing mouth, flared mouth and so on. The abdomen has a long abdomen, a round abdomen, a melon prismatic abdomen, an oval abdomen and a pocket abdomen. The placement of the injection flow is also quite ingenious, with square, octagonal, straight pipe and so on. The style of the note handle changes with the body, creating a new generation of style.
Because the annotations excavated from the Changsha kiln site are written with inscriptions such as "Chen Jia MeiChun Wine", "The Wine Is Warm and Fragrant", "Since Entering Xinfeng City, Only Smelling the Aroma of Old Wine", it is proved that this type of note is the wine pot at that time.
