After studying in the Soviet Union for a year, in 1928 Liu Ying was recalled by the organization, and when everyone was considering which department to transfer him to work in, Zhou Gong heard that Liu Ying had a strong fighting ability and could not lose money when fighting with several strong men, especially with a good marksmanship, lian said, "This is a talent, I want it." Liu Ying, who had just returned to China, came to work with Zhou Gong and kept him safe at any time.
Liu Ying, who had just arrived in Jinan, was arrested, and after being severely tortured in prison, he escaped with great skill, took advantage of the laxity of the guards, and after careful planning, brought the traitor to justice one night in August.
At the end of 1929, the Red 32nd Division was established in Henan, and it needed an excellent cadre to lead this newly formed Red Army team, and Liu Ying, who performed well in the task, was honored to accept this heavy responsibility and went to Henan to take up his post and became a Red Army division commander. At that time, he had experience in leading troops in the Northwest Army, and this return to the army made him work with ease, and the unit developed rapidly.
Four months later, Xu Xiangqian applied to his superiors to transfer him to serve as the chief of staff of the Red First Division under his leadership, Xu and Liu cooperated very well, the troops expanded from 800 to more than 3,000 people in a few months, in October 1930, Xu Division Commander had a new job, Liu Ying tangled for him as the commander of the Red First Division.
In January 1931, Liu Ying was transferred to the deputy commander of the Red Tenth Division, and in March of that year, the Red Tenth Division cooperated with the Red Eleventh Division and achieved a major victory, and after the war, Liu Ying was promoted to the commander of the Red Tenth Division.
This was the third division commander he served as, and a few months later the Red Seventy-third Division was established, and the division commander was Liu Ying, and after more than two months of training, the combat effectiveness of the newly established unit increased rapidly.
In January 1932, during the battle, Liu Ying was hit in the head by a stray bullet and seriously injured, although he was carefully groomed, he never got better.
In November of that year, Liu Ying was sent to Shanghai for treatment, but unexpectedly met an enemy soldier who had been captured here, who was recognized by him to inform, Liu Ying was unfortunately arrested, and after being imprisoned, Liu Ying was killed by the enemy without fear of rape, only 30 years old.

In 1980, a document was finally issued, determining that the martyr Liu Ying was the old man's husband Ma Zongxian, when the superior sent someone to tell the old man the news, he learned that the old man had died a few years ago, but unfortunately the old man had been waiting at home for half a century, and he did not know the true identity of his husband until he died.
