In this game, the two teams played many times in 4 gears!
Finally, we came to week 15 of the regular season. The first game of week 15 was a strong conversation from the American League's West End. The Kansas City Chiefs visit Los Angeles to challenge the Lightning, a sworn enemy in the same district. The outcome of this game is also likely to directly determine the winner of the American League West. The West Champions will also have home or even a bye in the first round of the playoffs, so this game is an inevitable victory for both teams.
Section 1
On the opening goal, the Lightning's returner Andre Roberts completed a 75-yard large-yard return. Unfortunately, Lightning then failed to beat the fourth gear in front of the chieftain's end area and returned empty-handed.
However, this gave the Chiefs a good chance to score. The Chiefs took the lead with a powerful dash from full-back Michael Burton to get their first touchdown.
The bad luck of lightning is not over. Quarterback Justin Herbert's pass was pressed by a rushing pass, and after being patted by Chiefs rookie linebacker Nick Bolton, veteran linebackEr anthony Hitchens cut the ball off to regain possession for the Chiefs.
Before the end of the first quarter, the Chiefs' star quarterback Patrick Mahomes also staged an escape. He dodged a bloody pass after the threat of a rushing pass, found the near-end striker Travis Kelsey, helped the Chiefs advance to the red zone, and then used the kicker's free-kick to score the score.
Section II
After entering the second quarter, the Lightning's offense finally picked up. Quarterback Justin Herbert couldn't find his teammate who ran out of the empty space in front of the end zone, chose to rush straight to the ball, and completed the rush touchdown to win back a city for the Lightning.
Towards the end of the half, the Lightning had another chance to score points. Herbert passed outside the line to take over Jaylen Gayton and completed the pass to touch the line, reversing the score.
Then the Lightning's defensive team also stepped forward. Rushing passer Joey Bossa pressed the ball off Mahoms' hand. Teammates pick up the ball and get the ball again for lightning. Unfortunately, the Lightning once again failed in the fourth gear in front of the end zone, failing to widen the points difference.
Half-time score
Section III
After entering the third quarter, both teams' defenses were more dominant. It wasn't until Chiefs star receiver Tyrick Hill completed the unsolvable catch. The catch was still completed when the defender had already taken the lead in interfering with the catch. Unfortunately, the Chiefs were unable to turn this wave of offense into points.
Section IV
Lightning once again hit the Chieftains' end zone, but this time there was a fatal mistake. Running back Joshua Kelly tried to rush the ball into the end zone, but unfortunately the ball was slapped and picked up by the defender. The chieftains escaped in front of the end zone.
But what he didn't expect was that the chief was right on his doorstep and returned the ball to Lightning. Mahoms' pass was intercepted by Lightning outside guard Yuchena Nwosu to help the Lightning regain their scoring opportunity.
The Lightning's offensive group didn't live up to the efforts of the defensive team either. Runback Austin Eckler completed the dashing touchdown to help the Lightning rewrite the score to 21-13.
The Chiefs began to fight back, and the first to stand out was the star near-end forward Kelsey, who received a pass from Mahoms and rushed all the way to the front 1 yard of the end zone.
Mahomes then easily completed a touchdown with outside receiver Hill, finding runback Clyde Edwards Eler on a two-point switch to complete the equaliser.
After the two teams returned to the same running line, the Lightning took the lead and gained the upper hand. Herbert's pass found Kenan Allen in the end zone, completed the touchdown and regained the lead.
But the chiefs immediately seized the time to equalize. Mahoms connected his old partner in the end zone, Kelsey, completed the passing connection and touchdown, once again pulling the two teams back to the same running line.
Extra time
In extra time, the Chiefs took the lead in attacking. Kelsey received the ball from Mahomes and rushed straight into the end zone to complete the touchdown and kill the game.
After this game, the Chiefs' record reached 10-4, sitting firmly on the top spot in the West End of the American League, and launched a challenge to the top seed of the entire American League. The Lightning's record became 8-6 after the loss, and the playoff seats were crumbling.
Does anyone remember the chiefs of the first half of the season...?
