Qudenima Glacier is located in Gamba County, Shigatse Region, Tibet, and is the source of mineral water for the "Tibetan Sacred Water". China National Geographic described Qudeng Nyima Glacier as "the end of the world." Nature's ingenuity has turned this place into a mysterious third pole.
The full name of Qudeng Nyima Glacier is "Dorji Qudenima", which means "Diamond Sun Tower". It is said that when the stupas shipped from India passed through this place, the sun shone on the stupas, hence the poetic name.
According to Tibetan scriptures, in the middle of the eighth century AD, at the request of Tubo Zangpu Trisong Detsen, Master Lotus went to Tibet to spread esoteric teachings, and when he returned to India, he passed through Quden Nyima and practiced in a cave at the foot of the snowy mountains of Kyomyom Chin and Kang chin Kabu in Gampa County, where a shepherd worshipped him. Soon, the Shepherd's Pagoda, the Shepherd's Pagoda, and the King's Pagoda were gradually built in the surrounding area, and named it "Dorji Qudenima", which means "Diamond and Sun Tower". Later, people used to call it "Qudenima".

Qudeng Nyima Monastery is 5,100 meters above sea level, the highest nun monastery in the world by the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. This is also the earliest temple in Gamba County, which was built in the Tubo period and has a history of more than 1,000 years.
Qudeng Nyima Monastery is not large, and the two-story prayer hall and Buddhist hall are typical Tibetan buildings. The prayer hall houses clay statues of Master Lotus and two concubines. In front of the Buddhist case, there is a bluestone with deeply sunken footprints of children, which is said to have been left on this stone by a senior monk of the temple when he was 8 years old. He had cultivated tantric Dafa and could stand still on this stone for several days, leaving a deep footprint.
In the southwest corner of the temple on the west side, there is a meditation cave that sinks into the ground, the entrance to the cave is semi-closed, less than two square meters to see, and there is a carved Buddha statue and a stone bed on the wall of the cave. According to the nuns in the temple, this place is very special and is a practice cave for senior monks of the past generations.
Walk three or four miles from Qudeng Nyima Monastery and you will find a clear spring on the mountainside. Legend has it that the spring water was the one that Lotus Saw too many diseases in the world, so he poked out this spring water with his cane on the mountainside of Qudenima Mountain, which is the nectar that gives mankind the cure of all diseases.
According to Tibetan scriptures, this spring water can cure 360 acute diseases and 420 infectious diseases. Local people say that drinking Qudenima mineral water has a certain therapeutic effect on gastrointestinal diseases, eye diseases, and gynecological diseases. In view of this mysterious legend and record, Qudenima mineral water is highly worshipped every spring and autumn. There are a large number of people from Qamdo, Shigatse, Gyantse, Angren and other places to help the elderly and children come to the Buddha, bathe, drink "nectar", and take a lot of water with them before leaving. Some people even give water as a precious gift to relatives and friends.
Behind the side of Qudeng Nyima Temple, between the four majestic ridges, there are three clear waters, namely three lakes called gold, silver and copper, which are in the east, west and south directions of the glacier. The Golden Lake is called the East Sacred Lake, and the Silver Lake is called the West Sacred Lake. East Sacred Lake and West Sacred Lake are the famous Qudenima Lake.
It is said that people who have a relationship sit quietly by the lake, without distractions, and can see the manifestation of their future lives from the blue waters of the lake.
The stones around Lake Qudenter Nyima walk to the opposite side of the lake shore to reach the Qudenima Glacier. Qudenima Glacier is not large, but it is one of the few glaciers that can be seen up close, as long as you have good physical strength, you can hike all the way to the glacier and get close to the glacier!
Towering at the highest point of view is the peak of Xuefeng Mountain, above the snow line on the north slope is a snow basin, between the ridge blades on both sides is an ice bucket, the glacier coils in between, the altitude difference is several hundred meters, and the end of the ice tongue has a clear fracture surface, exposing the texture of the glacier ring. The moraine lake exudes a quiet and cold atmosphere, and the blue is very pure.
Every year after October, different forms of ice float on the surface of the lake. Beneath the glacier surface, the fully squeezed and recrystallized glacial ice truly reveals the beauty of the extreme cold, and the blue, emerald-colored ice caves, ice tunnels and ice cracks are fascinating and seductive.
Behind the glacier are towering snow-capped mountains, and the weathered rocks of the lake guard this sacred land like a sacred tower, where there seems to be a sense of the end of the world, and even people wonder whether they have been in another sacred land.
Standing at the end of the world, looking into the endless distance, there is a sense of immediacy that is small enough to be in the dust.
