QWhy are drugs written off?
A: According to the new version of the Measures for the Administration of Drug Registration, the validity period of the drug registration certificate is five years, and the holder of the drug registration certificate shall continue to ensure the safety, effectiveness and quality controllability of the listed drugs during the validity period, and apply for drug re-registration six months before the expiration of the validity period.
According to the Regulations on the Implementation of the Drug Administration Law, if the validity period expires, if no application for re-registration is made or after review does not comply with the provisions of the drug supervision and administration department under the State Council on re-registration, its drug approval number, "Import Drug Registration Certificate" or "Pharmaceutical Product Registration Certificate" shall be cancelled.
Q Can the cancelled drugs still be used?
A: According to the provisions of the new version of the Measures for the Administration of Drug Registration, it is forbidden to produce or import drugs that have not obtained drug approval documents, and drugs that have been cancelled from the drug registration certificate shall not be produced or imported, sold and used.
Only the drugs produced by the corresponding pharmaceutical companies in the above catalogue are cancelled, and the pharmaceutical companies with drug registration certificates on the market can still produce related drugs. There are many kinds of similar alternative drugs under the same generic name, and you can choose to buy the same kind of varieties produced by other manufacturers.
