Family Letter Part I: Xia Minghan's Letter to His Wife in Prison
"It doesn't matter if you behead, as long as the doctrine is true." Kill Xia Minghan, and the people who came after him! This magnificent "righteous poem" was written by the martyr Minghan before his execution, and has been praised by people.
Xia Minghan, a communist party member, and Zheng Jiajun, a female embroidery worker, met the Hunan workers' movement led by the party during the Great Revolution, and their common ideals and beliefs and revolutionary feelings brought them together and married in 1926.
In March 1928, xiamingham was arrested in Wuhan for betrayal by traitors. In the dark and damp prison, he missed his wife and daughter so much that he used a half-cut pencil to write to his beloved wife. He wrote affectionately:
Dear Lady Jun: Comrades once said that only a good family in the world, today I feel that you are a good woman. I have no worries and no tears in my life, and you must not be sad and miserable. Looking at this world, several couples have been old for a hundred years. Throwing his head and spilling his blood, Minghan had already looked idle.
"Take what you need" will come one day, and the revolutionary cause will be passed on from generation to generation. The red pearls are still missed, and Chiyun hopes to be fulfilled, insisting on the revolution and inheriting my aspirations, and vowing to pass on the truth to the world! (Plus: Red pearl, refers to a red bead that Xia Minghan once gave to Zheng Jiajun to send acacia; Chiyun, refers to Xia Minghan's daughter Xia Chiyun.)
After writing this tear-jerking suicide note, the 28-year-old Xia Minghan also used his lips and blood to express his strong thoughts about his wife, leaving a deep kiss mark on the letter paper. "Passing through the clouds and fog, counting the confidants and ru in the world", one is virtuous and kind, the other is talented, in such a special era of gunfire, they (she) put down their children's love and more national righteousness.
After Xia Minghan's heroic righteousness in Hankou, Zheng Jiajun kept his instructions firmly in mind, and in the years of white terror and the war years filled with smoke, he was unwavering in his revolutionary efforts, while working for the party, he stubbornly raised his daughter to adulthood, and inherited her husband's cause with amazing courage and boldness.
This pair of revolutionary partners are like-minded, have deep affection, are willing to throw their heads and spill their blood for their ideals and beliefs, and their revolutionary spirit shines through the ages and illuminates future generations.
