Recently, Shantou Central Hospital was shortlisted for the first batch of national -level "neurointerventional construction centers", which is also the first hospital in eastern Guangdong to be shortlisted for the list, marking that the hospital's neurointerventional diagnosis and treatment conditions and capacity building have been recognized by national authoritative institutions and experts.
It is understood that the selection is led by the National Health Commission Capacity Building and Continuing Education Center, after the declaration, review, defense and other links, the expert group will evaluate the basic situation, hardware facilities and equipment, personnel technical level, medical teaching and other aspects of nearly 500 qualified applicants across the country, and finally review 150 construction centers that meet the standards, and then gradually promote the preparation of neurointerventional standardized diagnosis and treatment centers.
This activity aims to improve the standardized diagnosis and treatment capabilities of the construction center through teaching, guidance, and quality control, including surgery, rounds, internal and external department meetings, patient management, scientific research, etc., and further strengthen the professional ability and service level of the neurointerventional discipline team.
The reporter learned that the current cerebrovascular disease is the disease with the highest mortality rate and disability rate in China, and it is also the "number one killer" that threatens the life and health of the people in China. Because of its minimally invasive, safe and efficient characteristics, neurointerventional technology has become the most critical and cutting-edge technical means in the treatment of cerebrovascular disease, which greatly reduces the pain of patients with cerebrovascular disease and the burden on families and society.
Shantou Central Hospital vigorously develops the characteristic diagnosis and treatment technology of cerebrovascular disease interventional treatment, equipped with 5 DSA operating rooms, including the first interventional composite operating room in eastern Guangdong, equipped with double C arms for the top digital subtraction angiography machine in China.
As the "frontrunner" in the city's stroke prevention and treatment work, the hospital has more than 400 cases of neurointerventional treatment every year, ranking first in eastern Guangdong. At the same time, it has trained a large number of neurointerventional talents for the district and county-level hospitals in Shantou City and surrounding cities, and has made outstanding contributions to the promotion of appropriate techniques for stroke prevention and treatment and the improvement of the treatment level of cerebrovascular disease.
