The United States dares to blacklist DJI drones and really does not need to use them if they have the ability

On December 14, the Financial Times reported that the US Treasury Department will include 8 Chinese companies, including DJI, in the so-called list on the 16th. But obviously, this is to curb DJI technology from the perspective of funds and stock prices, and the United States does not have the courage to really not allow American institutions not to buy DJI drones.

DJI's inclusion in this list does not mean that U.S. institutions are not allowed to buy DJI drones, but that U.S. investors are not allowed to invest in DJI's stocks, as well as to issue bonds and financing to DJI. Among them, the Ministry of Commerce can prohibit American enterprises from selling products to Chinese enterprises, and the US Department of Finance can prohibit US institutions and individuals from investing in Chinese enterprises.

This is not a great impact on DJI, the parent company of DJI UAV, mainly because DJI has completed 6 financings, and investors include Mai Xing Investment, Zhongxing Light, and New Sky Domain Capital, which are basically Chinese enterprises. DJI will not go public in the United States in the future, because the United States has long blocked this road. DJI's market capitalization is estimated at more than 166 billion, but it never wanted to go public.

The United States is hostile to Chinese drones every day, but it does not dare to really ban Chinese drones, mainly because it cannot leave China's drones. The Financial Times reported that it had obtained a new memorandum submitted by the US Department of the Interior to Biden in January this year, which emphasized that the average price of the "blue drone" project tendered by the US Department of Defense to replace Chinese products was about $2100, which was 8 to 14 times more expensive than Chinese products, and due to design problems, it could not meet the key work needs of the former (the US Department of the Interior).

All this shows that the United States actually does not dare to be too harsh on DJI drones.
