In recent years, the domestic audience's pursuit of cultural relics, so that the treasure industry is also really hot, the major television stations have folk treasure programs, "treasure experts" originally refers to a wealth of professional knowledge, and a pair of people with fire eyes to identify the true and false of treasures, their appearance has helped collectors who want to collect antique cultural relics to identify treasures more conveniently.
But to become a treasure hunting expert, in addition to having professional knowledge and rich experience, the most important thing is to keep the bottom line of morality. The cultural relics auction industry is almost a profiteering industry, a pair of seemingly inconspicuous calligraphy and paintings, if it is identified as the authentic handiwork of which famous artist, then it can often sell tens of millions or even hundreds of millions, and the identification results of treasure experts can ultimately determine the fate of a cultural relic.
Therefore, treasure experts are a group of people who are always facing the temptation of high interests, and some of them will take risks for the sake of profit.
Liu Yan is such a "treasure expert", he used the information gap to defraud a famous painting from the farmer for 170,000 yuan, and finally sold it for 87 million, making money, but he swept the ground. But what is even more strange is that this Liu Yan's identity information is actually stolen.

Identity theft disguises oneself
About ten years ago, TV treasure hunting programs swept the country, and the form of these programs was much the same, that is, the program group invited several treasure experts to sit down, and the private Tibetan friends took the initiative to sign up, brought their own collections to the scene, and the on-site experts gave a value.
At that time, the collectors who could come here to treasure, most of the collections they owned were handed down from their ancestors, and the collections that their ancestors got by chance in the chaotic world were handed down, they themselves were not professional collectors, they did not have much knowledge to identify cultural relics, their economic ability was limited, and they could not go to the formal treasure collection structure, so they regarded the words spoken by these experts on television as a golden rule, and they did not know that these programs were uneven, and what the experts said was not necessarily legally responsible.
Liu Yan drilled this loophole at that time, Liu Yan's Baidu Encyclopedia introduced that he did have many years of experience in treasure hunting, once worked in well-known cultural relics units such as the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, the Capital Museum, the Beijing Cultural Relics Appraisal Bureau, and was a widely praised expert in the industry, both moral and artistic, who went to Hong Kong on behalf of the country to photograph three animal heads and Qianlong pastel six-square bottles, and also opened cultural relics appreciation classes in many key universities.
But this Liu Yan is not a deceitful Liu Yan, "liar" Liu Yan just happens to have the same surname as the cultural relics expert, and is also engaged in literary play and treasure hunting, but the fame is not as big as that cultural relics expert.
Maybe he wants to package himself, or he may want to rub fame, the scammer Liu Yan seized the loophole that the program group reviewed the guest information was not rigorous enough, stole the personal information of Liu Yan, a cultural relics expert on Baidu, and thus packaged himself as a big expert to participate in the TV treasure hunting program "Huayu's Gate".
In September 2009, Zhu Yun, a citizen living in Zhengzhou, brought his family heirloom "Songyang Hanbaitu" to participate in Henan Satellite TV's "Huayu Gate", the rule of this program is that after the public signs up to participate, they come to the scene with cultural relics, first eliminate some of the low value after the primary election, and the remaining valuable ones have the opportunity to take the stage.
Zhu Yun recalled that at that time, all the cultural relics in the primary election stage were only looked at by one expert to determine the authenticity of the cultural relics, which gave Liu Yan a lot of space to make some small actions, liu Yan said to Zhu Yun at that time, this painting is not Qianlong's real handwriting, it is a copy, but the imitation is OK, the level is relatively high, but there is not much collection value, this sentence poured cold water on Zhu Yun, and he went back with the collection in frustration.
Fraudulently named paintings, discredited
Just when Zhu Yun had lost hope in this collection, Liu Yan suddenly contacted him, saying that although this painting was only a fake, but the level of imitation was acceptable, and there were some times since then, he could find others to buy through him, the price was more than thirty thousand, Zhu Yun was very surprised to hear it, and he could sell this "fake" for some money, Zhu Yun was relieved to ask Liu Yan to find a seller for him.
Liu Yan took the initiative to contact Zhu Yun after a few days, saying that he had found a buyer, the buyer surnamed Cheng was willing to ask for 170,000 yuan, Zhu Yun was overjoyed, this price far exceeded his psychological price, so he immediately agreed to come down and sell the painting, and because he believed Liu Yan very much.
In the process of selling the painting, there was no favorable evidence left, which directly affected the subsequent fact that he could not submit sufficient evidence when he found out that he had been deceived and sued Liu Yan in court.
Liu Yan is also very cunning, he arranged all the transactions in private, there were no more witnesses on the scene, and found an intermediary to buy the painting, without personally buying it himself, cleverly reducing his suspicions.
By June 2011, Zhu Yun saw on television one day that the pair of "Praise of Humbot" that he had sold to the buyer surnamed Cheng had sold in Hong Kong for 87.36 million yuan, and the name was "Qianlong Royal Pen".
Zhu Yun knew at this time that he had been deceived, he was almost dizzy, and when he thought that the more than 80 million yuan might even change the fate of the entire family, he was so angry that he could not eat or sleep, he was determined to sue Liu Yan for defrauding his collection, and in August of the same year, he sued Liu Yan in court, but he did not expect that due to the lack of sufficient evidence chain, his road to safeguarding rights was extremely difficult.
Escape the law
First of all, Zhu Yun lacked evidence that Liu Yan had deceived him that the painting was a fake, no audio and video recording, no written documents, and no third person was present to testify, Liu Yan faced the accusations, and responded on the spot that he did not directly say that the painting was a fake at that time, but only said that the value was not high.
This involves a rule in the identification circle, that is, if the treasure connoisseur does not explain the authenticity of a collection, then it is okay to give it a random valuation, but once it is clearly said that the collection is fake, but in fact it is true, and then opening a low-price acquisition is absolutely breaking the rules of the treasure, that is, the real deception.
He also went on to explain why he thought the price of this collection was not high: "Qianlong's "Songyang Hanbotu" is not scarce in today's trading market, the same type can find many pieces, the existence of Qianlong's seal in these works is true, but the next stroke is not similar to Qianlong's own style, so it is speculated that this may be ghostwriting, although the ghostwriting is a little higher than the fake or the price, but it is certainly not as valuable as the real genuine. ”
But Liu Yan's explanation is not very strong, if it is determined that there is Qianlong's seal, then it can be determined that it is the real handiwork, as long as the authenticity, even if the category is not very scarce, it will not be worth only a hundred thousand, Liu Yan is taking advantage of the lack of treasure knowledge of collectors, using poor information, cheating a famous painting.
But Liu Yan's tongue is as clever as a spring, he can speak eloquently, he first reinterpreted his estimate of the painting, and then explained that the transaction between Zhu Yun and Cheng Mou was only a line led by himself, but he was not involved in the capital transaction behind it at all, and later even if the painting was sold for more than 80 million, he did not get a penny from it.
Then he put forward a new point of view, saying that the reason why the painting could be sold at such a high price in Hong Kong was that the seller himself spent money to inflate the price, and finally bought it back by himself, which is a common routine in the auction market, and does not prove that the painting itself is worth so much money.
Later, the court asked about the auction company, and the auction company responded: "'Songyang Hanbotu' was finally auctioned back by the client himself. "From this, it was determined that the evidence chain of Liu Yan's fraud was incomplete, and the seller surnamed Cheng did not appear in court or accept reporters in the name of going abroad, and lacked substantial evidence that Liu Yan made a profit in the whole process of Liu Yan deceiving Zhu Yun to let him sell the painting at a low price to Cheng, and finally auctioned by Cheng at a high price.
In the end, the court could not find Liu Yan and Cheng Mou fraudulent, Zhu Yun's painting did not come back, the compensation money was not obtained, Zhu Yun's psychology was naturally regretted, regretting that he should not trust others so gulliblely, and although the scammer Liu Yan escaped the sanctions of the law, his reputation had plummeted, and he was also suspected of infringing on the reputation of cultural relics expert Liu Yan, and was warned not to steal his information again.
brief summary:
It is said that collecting is risky, and investment needs to be cautious. Cultural relics trading collection in China still lacks a complete legal supervision system, a variety of treasure buildings, programs emerge in an endless stream, but its level is uneven, if the collector credulous trust these substrates, there is a risk of being pitted, all investment in the collection of cultural relics must polish the eyes, it is best to increase some of their own knowledge to distinguish the true and false cultural relics.
