Data from the Netherlands National Institute of Public Health and Environment on the 14th showed that the country has confirmed 105 cases of Infection with the Aomi Kerong strain. The Dutch government announced on the same day that it will extend the current COVID-19 prevention and control measures until January 14, 2022, and announced that it will speed up the intensification of vaccination of the new crown vaccine to cope with the rapid spread of the Omiljung strain. In addition, primary schools in the Netherlands will be closed early before Christmas, no later than December 21.
The epidemic prevention and control measures currently implemented in the Netherlands include: maintaining social distancing of 1.5 meters; wearing masks when entering all indoor public places; stopping the operation of necessities stores such as supermarkets and pharmacies between 20:00 and 5:00 the next day; clothing stores, restaurants, bars, theaters and indoor and outdoor sports venues must be closed between 17:00 and 5:00 the next day.

The Hungarian parliament approved the extension of the national emergency to the new crown epidemic until June 1, 2022. A day earlier, Hungary had reported two cases of infection with the Omiljun strain for the first time. The infected people are a couple with no recent history of overseas travel.

The COVID-19 alert system set up in the UK is divided into five levels, and the higher the level, the stricter the government needs to take measures to prevent the epidemic. Level 4 means that "the virus is highly contagious and the immediate pressure of the outbreak on health care services is widespread and significant or on the rise".
