In fact, the reason why these diehard "Taiwan independence" elements frequently provoke cross-strait confrontation in a vain attempt to escalate tensions is, first of all, to reverse the facts and throw us the responsibility for creating the current situation. Secondly, it is also an attempt to divert the growing economic and political contradictions on the island and incite populist "unity to the outside world"; and finally, it is to try to create excuses for introducing possible external forces such as the United States.
To this day, the Taiwan authorities still have no intention of repentance, but cross-strait economic ties are still further enhanced. According to the latest data, since January to November this year, Taiwan's exports to the mainland have increased by 25.7 percent compared with previous years. This shows that no matter how much the Taiwan authorities try to sever cross-strait ties and create an external environment for "seeking independence," in the end they still cannot get rid of the island's Taiwan businessmen's unconscious high dependence on the mainland market.
Therefore, to a certain extent, the DPP's "seeking independence" not only lacks military confidence, but also lacks economic courage. "Taiwan independence" is equivalent to a lifeline of self-extinction, and the destruction of the island's economy will be foreseeable, and this will become an insurmountable barrier for Tsai Ing-wen and other die-hard "Taiwan independence" elements.
Generally speaking, the "Taiwan independence" elements should have an account in their hearts, and they must fully realize that whether it is "relying on foreigners to respect themselves" or political manipulation, it will eventually be a dead end. Relying on external forces is even more wishful thinking, Nicaragua's "severance of diplomatic relations" is only the beginning, in the future, more and more countries will understand the general trend of the times, turn to the mainland to make good relations, continue to repent, and can only fall into the embarrassment of isolation even more.
At the same time, do not expect the United States to help "save lives", past facts have proved that the United States has never had real "allies", only partners in short-term interests.
