On October 11, the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (hereinafter referred to as cop15) was held in Kunming, with the theme of "Ecological Civilization: Building a Community of Life on Earth". Under the guidance of the COP15 Executive Committee and the Department of Publicity and Education of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the first Eco Film Week kicked off online from October 10 to 15. Zhang Kaili, Wang Zhifei, Huang Xiaoming, Qin Junjie, Mao Xiaotong and other filmmakers of different generations served as advocates of biodiversity conservation, namely the crested ibis, the Yunnan golden snub-nosed monkey, the Przewalski's gazelle, the Siberian tiger, and the giant panda, and promoted ecological theme films, issued biodiversity conservation initiatives to the whole society, and conveyed China's voice.

Zhang Kaili recommended the film "Ice Age" and "We Were Born in China", she said, the film brings the natural world into our lives, reminding us that some animals are disappearing. "A film can do very limited work to change the endangered situation of wild animals, but it allows us to see wild animals that we can't normally see, which makes people think."
Species with special appeal and attraction for social ecological protection are called "flagship species", Huang Xiaoming said that the protagonists in the animated movie "Kung Fu Panda" panda, snow leopard, tiger, crane, raccoon are loved flagship species, the film conveys human reverence for nature, but also let everyone pay more attention to these rare animals.
Mao Xiaotong introduced the domestic masterpiece "That Mountain That Man That Dog", calling on film and television practitioners to convey the concept of protecting biodiversity and living in harmony between man and nature through creation.
Qin Junjie took the famous work "Salt of the Earth" by German film master Wim Wenders as an example to advocate that everyone practice a lifestyle of reducing carbon emissions in their daily lives.
This year's Eco Film Week is hosted by the China Film Foundation, co-sponsored by Tencent Video, and hosted by the Wu Tianming Youth Film Special Fund of the China Film Foundation and Hainan Nanyi Media Technology Co., Ltd. With the concept of "All Things Shine, Harmony and Co-Prosperity", the Film Week builds an ecological film cultural exchange platform through activities such as ecological film screenings, "Light of Life" keynote speeches, and "Ta is Telling" public welfare propaganda film, using images to disseminate the concept of ecological protection, show the achievements of ecological protection, and tell wonderful ecological protection stories. Film Week will screen 30 excellent ecological theme films from different countries online, and the film week public welfare propaganda film "Ta is Telling" is jointly produced by the China Film Foundation, the Department of Publicity and Education of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and learning to strengthen the country.
