The mystery of the "haunted house" of the Edo shogun Tokugawa Shogun's harem Daio

In 1709, tokugawa Tsunayoshi, the fifth shogun of the Edo shogunate in Japan, died.

A month later, his wife, Odaiso Takashi Nobuko, also died.

According to the historical record, they all died of measles, one of the three major diseases of the time- the other two diseases were smallpox and chickenpox. At the time of his death, Tsunade was sixty-four years old and Nobuko was fifty-nine years old.

In fact, in that era, whether they were infected or not, they were considered to have lived a long life.

However, the couple has been married for decades, but nothing has come out.

The three people in the side chamber who left their names gave birth to only one son and one daughter.

His son Desong died at the age of four, and his daughter lived only in her twenties.

If you don't have a son, look for it from the Tokugawa clan. However, none of the heirs survived, and in the end only Tokugawa Ieyasu (then known as Tsunade) was left.

In 1705, when Jia Xuan moved into Da'ao, he was already forty-three years old.

Although he reigned for only three years, he abolished some harsh governments, which was well received and proved that he had the potential to be a good general.

But while he was waiting to take over, something else happened.

At that time, the most favored minister of Tokugawa Tsunayoshi was Yanagisawa Yoshiho, a side employer.

The side-employed man was responsible for passing on the message between the shogun and the senior shogun, how good was Tokugawa Tsunayoshi to him?

It is said that he gave his favored Iizuka Someko to him as a side room.

Not long after, Anyoko gave birth to a baby boy, later Yanagisawa Yoshiri.

In 1691, when Giri was four years old, he met Tsunayoshi. In 1699, he was given the post of Echizen Shougun from the four thrones, and in 1701, he was allowed to bear the original surname of the Tokugawa clan, Matsudaira.

It can be seen that Tsunayoshi liked this child very much, and in his career as a general, he went to Yanagisawa's house a total of fifty-three times.

This was strange, and at that time there was a lot of discussion, saying that Giri was his illegitimate son, otherwise he would not be treated beyond the children of the Tokugawa clan. It is said that Tsunayoshi still has feelings for Someko. When I went to Yanagisawa Province, I went to see their mother and son.

As for Yanagisawa Yoshiho, he gradually grasped the power, hat color and the like, and he couldn't take care of it.

In the old age of Gangji, the rumors that the family would be abolished and passed on to Jiri became more and more true, and people felt that the position of general was likely to have a bloody storm.

In 1709, Tokugawa Tsunayoshi died and Tokugawa Ieyasu ascended the throne, but Oori, Nobuko's room, was sealed with wooden planks.

Soon, the news came that Tsunayoshi had been assassinated.

Who killed him?

It was The Letter.

People have a clear eye to say that in order to enable Iemiya to succeed to the throne, Nobuko decided to make a desperate bet, and she asked the shogun to take the position between her bedroom, Uji, where the walls were painted with the scene of the Japanese tea capital Uji picking tea, and stabbed it with a knife. The high-ranking female official next to her, Mi nian, hugged Tsunayoshi, and Shinko drew her knife and stabbed again.

When the general died thoroughly, the two of them also committed suicide.

When the others heard the noise and rushed to the scene, they saw three bodies.

……

Since then, Uji has been sealed off, and no one has ever entered it again. Some people occasionally see a woman kneeling in front of the door at night... Every time she shows up, something big happens.

According to the Legend of Oiri, in 1853, Shogun Tokugawa Ieyoshi passed by and asked, "Who is kneeling there?"

None of his entourage actually saw it, but some of them were clever, saying that it was the sewing woman between Wufu.

Soon, the evil consequences were revealed, first the American black ship frightened the Tokugawa shogunate up and down; then Tokugawa Ieyasu suddenly fell ill and died within a week...

Anyway, between Uji, it has become a century-old murderous house in Ōori, and the legend of the haunted house is spread in folklore...

But are these true?

I think, of course, it's fake.

It's just a word of agreement after something big happens.

In 159 years after Tokugawa's death, Edo opened the city without blood, and Tokugawa Keiki became the last shogun. People who were accustomed to listening to the legends opened the Uji room with trepidation.

They were stunned.

However, it is not haunted, but I am amazed by the murals here, which are so beautiful.

Some people may be disappointed when they see this.

In fact, it is not necessary, many things, are just pretending to be ghosts.

As for why it was sealed, the reason for this has disappeared into the long river of history.
