The troupe specially gave him a practice room, he put on substitute clothes, leather shoes, walked around the room, experienced premier Zhou's walking demeanor, "once not, twice; two times no, three times, just walk again and again, straight to the waist and legs hurt." According to Wang Tiecheng's recollection, from receiving the play to the performance, a total of 17 days, he rehearsed the play during the day, worked overtime at night, and only slept about four hours a day.

Every drop of sweat turned into a wonderful performance on stage. On the day of the rehearsal of the performance, Wang Tiecheng recalled, "When I said a word, there was a round of applause from the stage; when I made an action, it was another round of applause. For months, he insisted on not eating staple foods, eating one tomato, one cucumber, or one bell pepper raw at each meal. When filming, "the biggest feeling is that I want to eat fried sauce noodles, steamed buns, oil cakes, peanuts." "That's not all, during filming, he had an accident and was seriously injured and broke 6 ribs. In the absence of a full recovery and a bandage on his chest and back, he participated in the shooting of Premier Zhou attending the 25th anniversary reception of the National Day. At this time, his personal state was very similar to premier Zhou's illness. With his outstanding performance in this film, Wang Tiecheng won the Best Actor Award at the 12th Golden Rooster Awards of Chinese Cinema, when the judges unanimously passed, which is very rare.

The costumes of Peking Opera are often silk fabrics, and they are artificially embroidered, which are very beautiful and very expensive, but they are also very squeamish, cannot be washed, and cannot be exposed to the sun. When the actor performs, it is inevitable that he will sweat, and once it is not handled well, the costume will be moldy and deformed, and the loss will be large. Ma Lianliang's "bamboo water jacket" is worn between the "water jacket" and the costume that are close to the inside. Ma Lianliang did this in order to create the beauty of stage performances, hoping to bring the audience impeccable beauty of artistic enjoyment, but also to be worthy of the audience. In fact, it is precisely because of this more real energy that Ma Lianliang and the drama company have made a well-known reputation. Wherever Ma Lianliang and the drama club went, it was difficult to find a ticket. No matter how expensive the tickets are, the audience knows that the money must be worth it.

It can be seen that more authentic is respect for oneself, respect for the audience, and respect for art; more authentic is also an attitude, a responsibility, and a realm.
