How to achieve extraordinary art without comparing yourself to yourself

The famous actor Wang Tiecheng is familiar to everyone because of his role as Zhou Enlai. A few days ago, one of his interviews was on the hot search, the content is about performance, Wang Tiecheng said, acting should be more real. He specifically mentioned his own "more real" experience, when filming the movie "Zhou Enlai", he performed in the case of breaking 6 ribs and being very emaciated. Later, to retake part of the footage, he took dehydration drugs to make the image closer to the state of Zhou Enlai's illness. He played the zhou enlai-like god Bi xiao, which was deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, and it was precisely from this kind of "more real child".

How to achieve extraordinary art without comparing yourself to yourself

Wang Tiecheng's play of Zhou Enlai is a kind of more real child in itself. In terms of appearance, he is not particularly fit, his eyebrows are not so thick, the bridge of his nose is not so straight, and his lips are a little thicker... After the death of Premier Zhou, with deep respect and nostalgia for Premier Zhou, he had a "bizarre idea", hoping to play Premier Zhou on the stage and present Premier Zhou's voice and smile to everyone. However, things don't seem to be the same as imagined. At that time, Wang Tiecheng, who worked at the China Children's Art Theater, began to quietly prepare for this "bizarre idea". He dressed himself up and let his friends look like who. Everyone looked at it for a while, some said like Stalin, some said a bit like Premier Zhou. This matter let the theater leaders know, specifically talked to Wang Tiecheng once, told him not to try casually, this is a serious problem.

The twist appeared in the rehearsal of the play "Turning". In 1977, the drama "Turning" looked for an actor who played Zhou Enlai. After several twists and turns, among several candidates, Wang Tiecheng passed the audition, which made him both excited and nervous. In fact, for whether he can play Premier Zhou well, whether it is the crew or himself, there is no bottom in his heart. Wang Tiecheng first competed with himself. He was determined to do his best to play the prime minister no matter what. According to Fang Ark's interview with Wang Tiecheng, "Only Playing Zhou Enlai in My Life," after taking over this performance task, Wang Tiecheng and his colleagues went to the Central News Documentary Film Studio again and again to watch documentaries about Premier Zhou. When I got home, I recorded the prime minister's words on the small tape recorder and played them over and over again. Carefully record the words pronounced differently from Mandarin, imitate and learn one by one until the pronunciation is exactly the same. The troupe specially gave him a practice room, he put on substitute clothes, leather shoes, walked around the room, experienced premier Zhou's walking demeanor, "once not, twice; two times no, three times, just walk again and again, straight to the waist and legs hurt." According to Wang Tiecheng's recollection, from receiving the play to the performance, a total of 17 days, he rehearsed the play during the day, worked overtime at night, and only slept about four hours a day.

Every drop of sweat turned into a wonderful performance on stage. On the day of the rehearsal of the performance, Wang Tiecheng recalled, "When I said a word, there was a round of applause from the stage; when I made an action, it was another round of applause. As a result, a fourteen-minute scene was applauded seventeen times. After the play was over, the audience was still crying. Such a live effect is enough to make people think of how vivid wang Tiecheng's image of the premier is.

As his fame grew, Wang Tiecheng's temper in performance was "more real", but his temper did not decrease. When filming the movie "Zhou Enlai", in order to lose weight, he drank slimming tea, and as a result, diarrhea almost could not be carried. For months, he insisted on not eating staple foods, eating one tomato, one cucumber, or one bell pepper raw at each meal. When filming, "the biggest feeling is that I want to eat fried sauce noodles, steamed buns, oil cakes, peanuts." "That's not all, during filming, he had an accident and was seriously injured and broke 6 ribs. In the absence of a full recovery and a bandage on his chest and back, he participated in the shooting of Premier Zhou attending the 25th anniversary reception of the National Day. At this time, his personal state was very similar to premier Zhou's illness. This section is filmed, and compared with the original image of the documentary, it seems that there is not much difference. With his outstanding performance in this film, Wang Tiecheng won the Best Actor Award at the 12th Golden Rooster Awards of Chinese Cinema, when the judges unanimously passed, which is very rare.

If you are not compared with yourself, how can you achieve extraordinary art? The list goes on and on.

Others are more genuine than their own team. Peking Opera performance artist Ma Lianliang's strict adherence to art is admirable. It is also this meticulousness that allows him to create a unique Mapai art with extraordinary achievements. The biggest feeling of Mapai art is "beauty". In 1929, he performed in Shanghai, and the famous artists in Shanghai praised his voice as "wide and narrow, the sound of transportation, the height of the river going east, suppressing the beautiful sound; the details are like the gossamer of the air, gentle and pleasant". Not only the pursuit of singing beauty, the stage presentation should also be beautiful, Ma Lianliang's costumes are made according to the body, fabrics, embroidery work must be approved by him. He wears a special "bamboo water jacket", which is a small vest made of thin bamboo pipes. The costumes of Peking Opera are often silk fabrics, and they are artificially embroidered, which are very beautiful and very expensive, but they are also very squeamish, cannot be washed, and cannot be exposed to the sun. When the actor performs, it is inevitable that he will sweat, and once it is not handled well, the costume will be moldy and deformed, and the loss will be large. Ma Lianliang's "bamboo water jacket" is worn between the "water jacket" and the costume that are close to the inside. According to our speculation, wearing such a hard bamboo water jacket in the middle may not be comfortable, but it can make the costume look neat and beautiful. Between personal comfort and artistic beauty, Ma Lianliang chose the latter.

In 1930, Ma Lianliang set up the Fufeng Society, which attracted many famous actors to join, and some dragon runners were willing to come here. Ma Lianliang's grandson Ma Long wrote in "My Grandfather Ma Lianliang" that even for the dragon set, Ma Lianliang had clear requirements, "First, before going to power, you must shave your head, shave your face, and put on oil paint. It cannot be like in other class clubs, gray heads and dirty faces on the stage, there is no artistic beauty; second, you must take off the cotton clothes and cotton pants, and then wear the head, can not look bloated and ugly on the stage; third, you can not wear your own shoes, you must wear their own thin-soled boots, only in this way can you present a uniform, beautiful and generous effect on the stage. Ma Lianliang did this in order to create the beauty of stage performances, hoping to bring the audience impeccable beauty of artistic enjoyment, but also to be worthy of the audience. In fact, it is precisely because of this more real energy that Ma Lianliang and the drama company have made a well-known reputation. Wherever Ma Lianliang and the drama club went, it was difficult to find a ticket. No matter how expensive the tickets are, the audience knows that the money must be worth it.

In these artists, it is not really a bar lifting, let alone a way to live with yourself or others. So what do they think? A passage from Ma Lianliang can be annotated. The critic MeihuaGuan asked Ma Lianliang why he worked so hard to perform? Ma Lianliang replied: "Despicable people do things without ambiguity. How much benefit people give me, I always have to sell back how much strength I have. The boss spent tens of thousands of dollars to ask me to sing, I don't sell my strength, how to be worthy of him. It is the friends who listen to the play, they spend more than a dollar to come to the big stage, and finally they can see me, and I have to repay people seriously. As for the hard work, it is another matter, and it cannot be discussed. It can be seen that more authentic is respect for oneself, respect for the audience, and respect for art; more authentic is also an attitude, a responsibility, and a realm. This kind of authenticity is respectable and admirable. (Reporting by Yu Guopeng, client reporter of Dazhong Daily)
