With the clamor of the "Taiwan independence forces" and a few countries with bad intentions, tensions in the Taiwan Strait have been further escalated. Recently, the Taiwan military has made even more small moves in a vain attempt to "resist reunification by force."
According to Taiwan's United News Network reported on December 5, the island's reserve military recently received a "mobilization call notice", which is valid from January 1 to December 31, 2022. This shows that the island has realized that the current situation in the Taiwan Strait is not calm, but the DPP authorities have gone all the way to the dark and adhered to the erroneous path of "using force to resist reunification."
In order to attract more reserve soldiers to participate in military training and strengthen military strength, the Taiwan authorities have had to move out preferential measures such as salary increases, tax cuts, and medical benefits for publicity. However, in terms of cross-strait mobilization capabilities, the island cannot be compared with the mainland at all. According to estimates, the total number of mainland reserve personnel exceeds 10 million, which is more than 5 times that of taiwan's reserve force, not to mention the number of soldiers in service. In the comparison of cross-strait troop strength, the PLA has an absolute superiority.
The strength of the troops is insufficient, and the Taiwan army wants to use its hands and feet on the equipment. According to media reports on 9 December, the relevant responsible person of Taiwan's defense department revealed for the first time on the 8th that the Taiwan military plans to secretly add a shore-mounted anti-ship missile system position equipped with Xiongfeng missiles in nine places in the north of Taiwan Island, Taoyuan, and Chiayi in the south-central part of Taiwan Island, and to compile at least 20 new shore-based missile squadrons to so-called "strike" the PLA's sea-crossing ships. In addition, the so-called "special budget" compiled by the Taiwan military includes the "Jianxiang" unmanned aerial vehicle that cost tens of billions of New Taiwan dollars to manufacture two types of aircraft, and the relevant person in charge of the Taiwan Air Force explained that the drone is not an "ordinary unmanned aerial vehicle" and is designed to meet the operational needs of the Taiwan Strait.
According to the Taiwan military, the so-called "anti-ship missile network" will be built in the Taiwan Strait on the island, and the primary goal is to "strike" at the PLA amphibious fleet and prevent the PLA from landing. In short, the Taiwan military is preparing for operations in the Taiwan Strait, and once the PLA takes action, a large number of missiles deployed by the Taiwan military near the Taiwan Strait will be aimed at PLA warships.
However, just like Taiwan's previous "self-built submarine" program, Taiwan's missile number seems to be large, but there is a problem of unevenness. Taiwan's missiles were both produced in the 1970s and 1980s and purchased in recent years; both "self-made" and "handouts" from the United States. Moreover, the command and management systems of the various missiles of the Taiwan military cannot be interconnected, so they look like there are many of them, but they are just a mess. Previously, the Taiwan media advocated that Taiwan's air defense missile density was the second in the world, and now it is hot and cold, so it seems that the Taiwan military really has nothing to do with it. The so-called donkey skills are poor, but Err.
Speaking of this drone, there is nothing new about it. Huang Zhiwei, "chief of staff" of the Taiwan Air Force, said that the unmanned aerial vehicle system created by compiling tens of billions of yuan is an "important weapon" for the Taiwan military to play an anti-radiation deterrent effect in electronic warfare in the future. Interestingly, Ma Wenjun, a member of the Chinese Kuomintang National Party, questioned this, believing that the unmanned institutional type was too old and the key technology was still immature, and advocated freezing the cost of NT$50 million for weapons and equipment production and other projects in the budget.
The Taiwan military has been trying to deter the PLA, but compared with the PLA, the Taiwan military is extremely weak in terms of military science and technology, military system, and the quality and quantity of its equipment. In addition to these, the Mainland People's Liberation Army has also laid down a net of heaven and earth, and once the Continental Army makes an out-of-the-ordinary move, it will be struck by thunder.
Since November, the PLA's patrols of the Taiwan Strait have been uninterrupted, and the intensity of its cruises has been continuously strengthened. In addition, the Platon Army previously conducted landing operations in the eastern waters of Taiwan, off Hualien. The hualien off-the-sea is considered to be one of the most important lifelines of Taiwan's resistance to the PLA, which simply means that the PLA's operation has reached the lifeline of the Taiwan army. According to previous Japanese media reports, the People's Liberation Army has regularly deployed at least 1 warship in the waters between Yonaguni Island and Taiwan, using regular shift changes to maintain 24-hour sailing standby.
No matter how the "Taiwan independence forces" struggle, cross-strait reunification is an inevitable trend. Wu Chengdian, chairman of the New Party, has said on many occasions that cross-strait relations are the key to Taiwan's life and death. At the Straits Forum on December 11, he said, "We must face cross-strait reunification calmly, and when reunification is no longer an option for Taiwan's future development, it will definitely be a disaster for Taiwan and a crisis for Taiwan." On the contrary, this is an endless new opportunity for Taiwan's development. We hope that the people of Taiwan will be able to see clearly the true features of the "Taiwan independence" forces at an early date and that the DPP authorities will see the situation clearly at an early date. Just as Wu Chengdian said, peaceful reunification of the two sides of the strait is the two wheels of the car and the wings of the bird. Cross-strait peace must be guaranteed, and reunification is the way back.
