Peskov told russian media on Sunday (12th) that "in recent weeks, we have heard too many aggressive remarks from across the ocean. Unfortunately, this does not in any way help to de-escalate tensions. ”

The report pointed out that this remark is in response to the threat issued by the US president on Saturday (11th), Biden threatened that if Russia decides to "invade" Ukraine, it will pay a "terrible price".

"We're going to find that we have to send more U.S. and NATO troops to the East Wing 'B9' — all of these NATO countries, and we have a sacred obligation to protect them from any Russian attack," Biden said. According to the report, the B9 refers to the Eastern European members of NATO, which make up the so-called Bucharest Nine.

While Biden avoided directly committing troops to Ukraine, he said Washington would "continue to provide ... to the Ukrainian people... Defensive Capabilities".

Over the past few weeks, Western media and senior government officials have repeatedly claimed that Russia is seeking to "invade" its neighbor Ukraine, citing the fact that Moscow has moved Russian troops into its territory near Ukraine's borders. Estimates of the size of the so-called "invasion" vary widely, with some sources quoted by Western media claiming that Russia has assembled as many as 175,000 soldiers to participate in the operation.

Russia has always denied any intention of invading Ukraine, noting that it was NATO's military exercises and bellicose rhetoric from the West that first created tensions on the Russian-Ukrainian border.

Peskov stressed on Saturday (11th) that Russia is free to deploy its troops anywhere in its territory. "U.S. warplanes are getting closer to Ukraine, and U.S. armament is advancing into our territory," he warned, adding that a demonstration of such support is "pushing" kiev authorities to try to resolve the long-running civil conflict in eastern Ukraine by force. Peskov said: "If Ukraine launches another offensive against its own people, it will be another disaster for Europe." (Edit: SDY)
