As a result, I had a strong sense of mystery and curiosity about Yetai Mountain, and I always wanted to take the time to go to Yetai Mountain in person, personally feel the history and culture there, recall the heroic deeds there, and remember the revolutionary martyrs. One hot weekend, it was afternoon, I drove back from Fangli Town to the county town just happened to pass by here, seeing that the time was still early, so I parked the car on the side of the road, got off the car and followed the footsteps of tourists to climb the mountain again. Along the densely packed acacia trees on both sides, the winding but smooth cement road is all the way, the leaves above the head are thick, the grass under the trees is thick, the air in the depths of the road is clear, the trees are shady, and the unknown birds and finches are singing endlessly. The road followed the mountain, uphill and downhill, and after a while we arrived at a small courtyard down the hill.
Directly in front of the courtyard is a row of cultural propaganda walls more than one meter high, arranged in a line from north to south, and each wall is painted with colored pens on the scenes of heroes killing the enemy.
The courtyard is not large, surrounded by square bricks, there is a row of bungalows in the north and south and east and west of the courtyard, four living rooms in the east and two in the south are the "Yetaishan Battle Memorial Hall", which displays war relics. Walking into the memorial hall with the red wooden door, I carefully examined each precious cultural relic in the glass display cabinet, and sometimes looked up to carefully read the photos and battle maps on the wall, and suddenly felt the thickness of the history and culture here. 76 years ago, in order to defend the southern gate of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region and crush the Kuomintang's attempt to attack Yan'an, the revolutionary martyrs were not afraid of sacrifice, fought with blood, and threw their heads and spilled their blood for the victory of the revolution, so as to exchange for today's peaceful and peaceful happy life. Although there were many people in the exhibition hall at that time, there did not seem to be much noise, and everyone seemed to hear the revolutionary fighters blowing the battle horn, as if they smelled the smoke of war.
Stepping out of the memorial, turn left and walk slowly towards the top of the hill along a narrow, secluded uphill path made of concrete. The trees on both sides of the road are towering and densely leafy. Halfway up the road, it is a step of construction, and it is difficult to reach the top of the mountain by stepping on the steps. At this time, the breeze is blowing, the air is particularly clear, I take a big breath while breathing heavily, while concentrating on the mountains, the mountains are rugged, high and low, under the blue sky and white clouds, surrounded by mountains, ravines, dense trees, green fields, different colors, blended together, magnificent, forming a magnificent natural picture. In front of you, you will see a simple and strangely constructed red five-cornered pavilion, the yellow glazed tiles on the pavilion shine in the sun, and directly below the pavilion stands a monument built of black boulders, on which is written the "Yetai Mountain Battle Monument", the pen is vigorous and powerful, through the wind and rain, as if it has been silently telling tourists the story of the great and magnificent war.
Standing in front of the monument, I refused to leave for a long time, as if I wanted to touch the magnificent scene of the war again through the words that shone with the light of history, and once again remember the great achievements of the revolutionary ancestors.
Today is the national "Martyrs' Memorial Day" in order to educate the Chinese people to turn gratitude for the martyrs' deeds, respect for the dignity of the martyrs, and carry forward the spirit of the martyrs into a national consensus and national will, stimulate the patriotic enthusiasm and nationalist spirit of the whole nation, and form a good atmosphere of respecting and learning from the martyrs.
It must be known that a nation without heroes is a sad nation, and a nation that forgets heroic martyrs is also a sad nation. When I left, I had a heavy heart, looked up at the rolling mountains, and stepped on the footprints of the revolutionary martyrs who had fought, and my mood was full of emotions. Scene after scene of war, one heroic deed after another that can be sung and wept, echoed in my mind for a long time, and my mood was difficult to calm down for a long time. Just imagine, in an environment of extremely harsh conditions and extremely backward weapons at that time, the reason why the martyrs were able to defeat the strong enemy was not because of their firm revolutionary ideals and the spirit of struggle of being brave and tenacious and not afraid of sacrifice!
