Former WBC and WBA double midweight champion Keith Thurman will face former WBA super lightweight regular boxer Mario Barrios on January 29 next year.
Thurman, 33, hasn't played a game since losing to Pacquiao in the summer of 2019. Overall, Thurman has played just four times since 2015, beating Sean Porter in 2016, Garcia in 2017, Lopez in 2019 and then Pacquiao. In the past 4 years, Thurman has only stepped into the ring twice, and the density of matches is quite low.
Mario, 26, is a former WBA super lightweight regular boxer and is now ranked 13th in the BOXREC-140-pound overall, with a professional record of 26-1 and 17 KO opponents. He was defeated by Davis in the 11th leg in June, his only defeat to date.
