Nissan's second electric car, the Arria, will be available next year, with four models capable of outputting up to 389bhp and highly anticipated handling.
The new Nissan Aria electric SUV is bold in shape, with a range of up to 310 miles and an oh-na management output of 389bhp, which Nissan claims will "mark a new era in electric vehicles" by combining high-tech technology with "exciting" handling.
As a Volkswagen ID 4 competitor, Aria has opened for pre-order, with an entry-level version of the front-drive, 63 kWh battery priced from £41,845.
The car can travel 223 miles in WLTP tests, while its 215-horsepower engine can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 7.5 seconds. The larger 87kWh battery model costs £51,090 with a more powerful 240bhp two-drive system for 310 miles, while the four-drive version costs £53,790 and can come with 302bhp or £58440 of 389bhp.
The E-4orce performance model accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 5.1 seconds, and like other E-4orce models, it has a top speed of 124 mph.
The mass-produced Ariya retained the bold styling of the concept car unveiled at last year's Tokyo Motor Show and showcased Nissan's new brand identity in a "seamless, elegant, and fresh" look. The company shares the renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance's new CMF-EV electrical architecture with the smaller Renault Mégane E-tech electric, which Nissan's director of operations, Ashwani Gupta, said, marking the beginning of a "new chapter for Nissan."
