Recently, the United States finally stopped hiding and directly showdowns. In their public conversations, US Secretary of State Blinken and Defense Secretary Austin went so far as to refer to Taiwan Province of China as a "state" and threatened to ensure that Taiwan has the ability to "defend itself," while accusing Chinese mainland of trying to unilaterally change the status quo in the Taiwan Strait.
It can be said that the US position on the Taiwan issue is becoming clearer and clearer, although during the video meeting between the Chinese and US heads of state, US President Biden also said that "the United States has long pursued the one-China policy and does not support 'Taiwan independence'", but in fact the United States is nothing more than playing a duplicitous trick. From beginning to end, US politicians have never given up playing the "Taiwan card," explicitly and covertly support the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces, and have also attempted to plant a "dark nail" on the road to China's rise by manipulating the Taiwan issue.
But what U.S. politicians don't realize is that the Taiwan issue, as China's core interest, has no room for consultation, concession, and game. The Chinese side will not make any compromises on the Taiwan issue, and the biggest mistake of the United States is to regard the Taiwan issue as a regular international issue, and they still do not realize how firm China's determination to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity is. It is foreseeable that if US politicians continue to play with fire on the Taiwan issue, they will certainly set themselves on fire!
What deserves attention is that at a time when the cross-strait situation is not optimistic, Lin Zhengjie, the founding elder of the Democratic Progressive Party, has made a strong appeal on Taiwan Island to discuss with the mainland "a plan for the reunification of Taiwan across the strait by one country and two sides of the strait." It has been learned that Lin Zhengjie, who once joined Chen Shui-bian and Hsieh Chang-ting and called Taiwan the "three masters outside the party," has since quitting the DPP, founded the China Reunification Promotion Party and plunged himself into the great cause of cross-strait reunification.
Lin Zhengjie pointed out that think tanks on both sides of the strait should speed up the study of the reunification plan and do a good job in making preparations for reunification, that is, "seven links and one peace." Lin Zhengjie said that in history, Qin Shi Huang unified the six countries through the same text, the same train, the unification of weights and measures and currency, and the reunification of the two sides of the strait is the same reason. For example, water supply, drainage, electricity, roads, communications, heating, natural gas, land leveling and so on. Lin Zhengjie further pointed out that there are many aspects that need to be coordinated in the advance work of cross-strait reunification, including the use of simplified and traditional characters, media, communication networks, currency, electrical appliances, and the work of unifying at the legal level.
When Lin Zhengjie submitted the idea of cross-strait think tanks to discuss the road map for reunification into the media, it triggered a heated discussion on the island.
