Blue Origin completes its third manned spaceflight and sends six passengers into space for the first time

Financial Associated Press (Shanghai, editor Xia Junxiong) news, local time on Saturday (December 11), Amazon founder Jeff Bezos under the blue origin company conducted the third manned flight, which is the company's first time to send six passengers into space at the same time.

The launch was still carried out by the New Shepard rocket, which lifted off at Blue Origin's private launch site in western Texas, and the launch lasted about 11 minutes from start to finish, with the crew experiencing about three minutes of weightlessness.

In July, Blue Origin completed its first manned spaceflight, and Bezos completed a space trip with three other members aboard the new Shepard, marking the company's entry into suborbital tourism. In this area, Blue Origin competes with Virgin Galactic, which also completed its space flight in July, and earlier in time, and founder Richard Branson became the founder of the first commercial space company to land in space.

The current space tourism market is also a participant in Elon Musk's SpaceX, but the company's Crew Dragon capsule will fly into orbit, not only flying at a higher altitude than Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic, but also lasting far more than competitors, and crew Dragon can stay in space for days instead of minutes.

It's worth mentioning that while Bezos said Blue Origin has sold nearly $100 million worth of tickets to future passengers, the company did not disclose the seat price for the new Shepard.

In contrast, Virgin Galactic announced in August that it would start reselling tickets, starting at $450,000 per seat. Virgin Galactic has sold more than 600 tickets to celebrities such as Hollywood movie star Leonardo, Canadian singer Justin Bieber and the late British physicist Stephen Hawking.
