At the construction site of the hot spring hotel in Chagan Lake Ecological Town, tower cranes are lined up, and workers are working intensively. In July 2020, in accordance with the guiding ideology of "subtraction inside the scenic spot and addition outside the scenic spot", the former Golros Mongol Autonomous County gradually expanded to the outside with Chagan Lake as the core, and deeply integrated with hot spring health, special cuisine, and exhibition interpretation to create the Chagan Lake Ecological Town Project. This year, the local government has planned and implemented 28 projects, and plans to complete an investment of 1.95 billion yuan during the year.
Chagan Lake Town is 13 kilometers away from Chagan Lake, and the Changbai Railway, Hunwu Expressway and National Highway 302 run through it, with convenient transportation. After completion, it will carry the auxiliary functions of ecological tourism of Chagan Lake, and "eat, live, shop and entertain" will be 10 kilometers away from the scenic spot, reducing the ecological and environmental hidden dangers brought by tourism to Chagan Lake.
Today's Chagan Lake is sparkling, gulls and birds are gathered, and the water and grass are abundant. The local implementation of "water to raise fish" and "fish to purify water" projects, through the transformation of fish to improve water quality, every year stocked with silver carp, grass carp, large white fish 10 million. Today, chagan lake catches much less than the stocking every year, and there are more and more fish in the lake.
In addition, in order to promote the protection of the ecosystem, around the tourism route of chagan Lake Scenic Area, 3 townships and 33 villages have implemented the project of returning farmland to forests and wet grasslands, with a total area of 4866 hectares. Combined with its own reality, Chagan Lake Development Zone has also launched the Construction Project of Seven Bubble Wetlands in Chagan Lake, the Construction Project of Wild Duck Bay Wetland in Chagan Lake, the Construction Project of Wetland Protection and Restoration of Chagan Lake, the Construction Project of Ecological Waterfront Restoration Project of Block 224 of Chagan Lake, and the Construction Project of Sewage Treatment Upgrading and Transformation Project.
The continuous improvement of the ecological environment has allowed Liu Wei, who grew up in Xisontu Village, Chaganhu Town, to see the prospects for the development of his hometown. Liu Wei studied tourism economic management at university, and after graduation, he returned to his hometown to start a business and returned to the village to run a country house. At first, Liu Wei's small restaurant was just a row of bungalows, but in 2017, with the support of the government, the small bungalows "transformed" into three floors, and the pockets became more and more drummed.
Encouraged by the policies of the local government, at present, the main body of homestay operation is upgraded by individual tourism companies and develops large-scale operations. Today, in the village of West Sonntu, wide and clean hard roads pass through the village, and the country houses are neatly arranged, and the beautiful picture of rural revitalization is slowly unfolding. While improving infrastructure, beautifying the appearance of the village, and vigorously developing rural tourism, Xisontu Village has also developed the cultivation of six kinds of Chinese herbal medicines based on Banlan root according to local conditions, which has played a positive role in protecting the ecological environment of Chagan Lake, improving the lives of farmers, and building beautiful villages.
