Chen Hongshou is very famous in contemporary times, not with his poetry and painting prints, but with his "Mansheng pot" ~ purple sand pot and today's great movement.

Chen Hongshou's grandfather, Chen Shipan, was an erudite scholar of hongzi in the middle of the Qianlong dynasty and entered Hanlin. When Chen Hongshou was fifteen years old, his mother died, and the teenager grew up overnight. So he came out early to do things. The pressure of his family made him precocious, and he had to pick up the burden. He made a living as a secretary to the shogunate, and although he was young, he was extremely intelligent, and his colleagues and nobles did not despise him, but on the contrary valued his talent. His residence at that time was very simple, and his friends who came from other places and friends who passed through Hangzhou all visited the door, in order to receive them well and not disappoint these friends, he often relied on loans to socialize with friends.

Ruan Yuan, after his career, was extremely friendly to the scribes and took pleasure in helping them. When Chen Hongshou was thirty-eight years old, his father died, and he was sad and mournful. After the funeral, Ruan Yuan helped him stay in Jiangnan and sign Ganyu County, which was later supplemented as Liyang County. In the same year, Ruan Yuan himself was also because of the death of his father and returned to Yangzhou to worry. When Chen Hongshou was in Ganyu County (now part of Lianyungang, Jiangsu), he cracked down on smuggling salt lords and banned the private salt trade; he built large and small bridges widely, and there was also a political voice for the management of rivers. At that time, the Dasha River in Ganyu County was congested during the flood, and the water overflowed and flooded the fields and villages. Chen Hongshou first donated money to the local rich, set a limit on the time of dredging, cleared the river, and lifted the flood. When he was in Liyang County, he was not greedy or corrupt, and he was known for his political voice.

Chen Hongshou was very successful in art, widely involved, extremely accomplished, his seal carvings in and out of the Qin and Han Dynasties, one of the famous "Eight Houses of Xiling". His calligraphy is long in line, grass, seal, and subordination. The book is steep and elegant, the book is open and horizontal, and there is a unique Qing dynasty; he is also good at bamboo carving; painting is good at landscapes, flowers, and orchid bamboo. Xin Youyi ten and one month, Man Sheng Ji and the system. "The side section of the letter, the style of a Jin and Tang Dynasty, like a pen and paper, is very elegant." Although this square seal was made by Chen Hongshou for Lin Xiaoxi, there was also his own love for plum blossoms. 63 years later, due to coincidence, this seal flowed into the hands of Yin Xuan, Wu Rangzhi was fortunate to see it, overjoyed, and couldn't help but pick up the carving knife to make up for it, which was a groundbreaking thing for Wu Rangzhi, who did not love the signature of the seal! It is precisely because Wu Rangzhi liked it once every 63 years at this time that this square seal shines again, and there is a second side paragraph. Wu Rangzhi carved: "Lin Xiaoxi is also a character Ji Xuan, for Yin Xuan's father- This is a masterpiece of Chen Gong, so Yin Weng is particularly important. Koshi Mid-Spring let the view, for the record. "Literati style and elegance is like this, the road to the itch is can't help it, Wu Rangzhi is a really elegant and interesting person."
