author:Listen to rain stories

Legend has it that one year in ancient times, ten suns appeared in the sky, causing the earth to smoke and the sea to dry up, and ordinary people could no longer live.

This incident alarmed a hero named Houyi. He ascended to the top of Kunlun Mountain, made full use of his divine power, and opened his bow to shoot down nine extra suns.

Houyi has made great achievements and has been respected and loved by people. Many people with lofty ideals come here to study art. The treacherous and dishonest Meng Peng was also admitted.

Soon, Hou Yi married a beautiful and kind wife named Chang'e, Hou Yi was with his wife at other times in addition to hunting, and people envied the loving couple who looked like a talented woman.

One day, Hou Yi went to Visit Friends in Kunlun Mountain to seek advice. When he happened to meet the empress dowager passing by, he asked the empress dowager for a package of elixirs. It is said that after taking this medicine, you can instantly become an immortal.

However, Hou Yi was reluctant to leave his wife, so he had to temporarily give the elixir to Chang'e for collection. Chang'e hid the medicine in the treasure box on the dresser, but Meng Peng saw it.

Three days later, Hou Yi led the disciples to go hunting, and Meng Peng had ulterior motives and pretended to be ill.

Shortly after HouYi led the generals to leave, Meng Peng broke into the backyard of the Inner Mansion with a sword and threatened Chang'e to hand over the elixir.

Chang'e knew that she was not Meng Peng's opponent. When she encountered danger, she decided decisively, turned around and opened the treasure box, took out the elixir of immortality, and swallowed it in one gulp.

Chang'e swallowed the medicine, immediately drifted off the ground, rushed out of the window, and flew into the sky. Because Chang'e cared about her husband, she flew to the nearest moon and became a fairy.

In the evening, Hou Yi came home, and the beards cried about what had happened during the day. Hou Yi was shocked and angry, and drew his sword to kill the thief, and Meng Peng had already fled. The angry Houyi pounded his chest and screamed. Grief-stricken HouYi looked up at the night sky and called out the name of his beloved wife. At this time, he was surprised to find that today's moon was exceptionally bright, and there was a shaking figure that resembled Chang'e.

Hou Yi quickly sent someone to Chang'e's favorite back garden, placed an incense case, placed her favorite honey and fresh fruit, and made a remote sacrifice for Miss Chang'e in the Moon Palace.

After hearing the news of Chang'e's immortality on the moon, people set up incense cases on the night of the full moon and prayed to the kind Chang'e for good luck and peace.

The Emperor of Heaven was also touched by the spirits of Chang'e and Houyi, who sacrificed themselves for the happiness of the villagers. Later, he appointed HouYi as the commander of the heavens and reunited with them during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Since then, Chang'e and Houyi have lived happily in heaven.
