Introduction
2021 marks the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. New era Beidou spirit
On July 31, 2020, General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed at the completion and opening ceremony of the Beidou-3 global satellite navigation system that it is necessary to inherit and carry forward the Beidou spirit of the new era.
Beidou is a global satellite navigation system independently built and operated by China. In the late 20th century, China began to explore the development path of satellite navigation systems suitable for national conditions, and gradually formed a three-step development strategy. In 1994, the Beidou No. 1 project was approved; In 2000, the Beidou-1 system was completed to provide services to China; In 2012, the Beidou-2 system was completed to provide services to the Asia-Pacific region; In 2020, the Beidou-3 system will be completed and served the world.
Over the past 27 years, several generations of Beidou people and hundreds of thousands of builders have continued to struggle, and with the heroic spirit of daring to fight a hard battle and the scientific attitude of seeking truth and pragmatism, they have challenged the key core technology difficulties such as "frequency", no "bell", lack of "core", and cloth "station", and bred the Beidou spirit of "independent innovation, open integration, unity of purpose, and pursuit of excellence". This spirit is a precious spiritual wealth on the road of "star-making" of the Chinese nation.
On July 31, 2020, the completion and opening ceremony of the Beidou-3 global satellite navigation system was held in Beijing. General Secretary Xi Jinping attended the ceremony and solemnly announced that the Beidou-3 global satellite navigation system was officially opened. This marks that beidou has entered a new era of global service.
From 1994 to 2020, which lasted 26 years and 44 launches, China has successively sent 4 Beidou test satellites and 55 Beidou-2 and No. 3 networking satellites into space to complete global networking and contribute to the "China Program" of global satellite navigation to the world.
