Ordinary jobs achieve great results
In 2005, Li Cuicui, who had just turned 19, participated in the selection of explainers on Liugong Island and was successfully selected. While rejoicing in the job of your choice, frustration follows.
"A sentence of explanation can be passed by others two or three times, and it takes ten or twenty times to come to me." Li Cuicui secretly decided that he must practice the basic skills well. No matter day or night, as long as you get a little free time, there must be a figure of her "practicing". Finally, in the induction assessment at the end of the training, Li Cuicui became the first young person to meet the standards and took over the microphone that she had been worried about for a long time.
"The docent's kung fu is outside the classroom, not just preparing within 8 hours of work."
In order to improve her ability and level of explanation, on the basis of memorizing the basic version of the explanatory words, she consulted a number of books on the history of Liugong Island, modern Chinese history, the history of the development of new China and other related books, and when she encountered new knowledge points, she would share and communicate with other colleagues, and constantly enrich and improve her own explanation content.
Through the accumulated learning, each of Li Cuicui's explanations is fully integrated into each specific scene and history, and her level of explanation has improved by leaps and bounds. In the 16 years of her work as a commentator, Li Cuicui has explained to tourists more than 30,000 times.
"A thousand people have a thousand thoughts, a thousand people look like each other." Li Cuicui said that in the specific explanation, the explainer cannot listen to each group of 300,000 words of explanatory words in a uniform way, but should make targeted adjustments to the speech according to the groups in different fields, so that each has its own focus and is taught according to the person. "Of course, this process of adjusting, enriching, and perfecting the explanatory words is also the process of forging your own explanatory style."
In 2016, the Jiaodong (Weihai) Party Sex Education Base was established, and Li Cuicui's identity was also transformed from a scenic spot explainer to a party sex education base explainer, and the content of the explanation was also changed from the introduction of scenic spots to party sex education. In 2021, Li Cuicui officially joined the interpretation team of the Sino-Japanese War Museum in China. This new identity puts higher demands on her.
She said that no matter what position she is in, she will not be separated from the front line of explanation. In recent years, he has observed the red docent competition in the province and the whole country, gave lectures on the history of Jia Wu for party members from all over the province, and studied at Beijing Language and Culture University for further study. Li Cuicui said that if you want to give someone a glass of water, you have to have a bucket of water yourself. Therefore, the explainer needs to have a rich knowledge reserve, seize every opportunity to improve their professional quality, so as to often talk about the new, so that they can become a "docent who can't ask".
As a red docent, the emotions in my heart need to be ignited. Li Cuicui said: "The speaker must have emotions, so that he can pass on the emotions. On the other hand, if you are dismissive of history and have no sense of reverence, then what you say is not passionate, it is impossible to move others, and in the end it will not achieve the purpose and meaning of education. ”
In 2019, the officers and men of the Huangshi warship came to Liugong Island to hold a practical activity with the theme of "Remembering the Shame of the Country and The Determination to Strengthen the Army and Revitalize the Army", with Li Cuicui as the docent. After receiving this task, Li Cuicui decided to start from the feelings of home and country, she told the story of Chen Jingying's two family letters to her father, and told the story of Deng Shichang's loyalty and filial piety, and her father's inability to run for mourning after his death. As the layers of explanation progressed, many soldiers at the scene had tears in their eyes, and all of them were touched by the feelings of defending the family and selflessly dedicating themselves to the country.
This kind of two-way interaction and two-way communication between the narrator and the audience made Li Cuicui feel very deeply. She said: "The officers and men of the army have a deeper understanding of the blood and tears story of that period of history a hundred years ago, and this feedback will be passed on to more people in the explanations that I have enriched into the future." I will also continue to dig up new historical materials, enrich myself, do it according to the people, and always maintain a 'zero mentality'. ”

She also often combines some recent national events with explanatory words, so that people can more deeply understand the meaning of "all history is contemporary history". After explaining to the general secretary who came to inspect, Li Cuicui had a new understanding of the profession of a docent, and she decided to take on the mission and responsibility of a red docent.
"We can't tell the audience what resources are on Liugong Island from the perspective of pure tourism before, but we must become a bridge between history and reality, and be a 'communicator' connecting tourists with history." Reflecting reality through history, and then combining history with reality, and alerting hundreds of millions of people to take history as a mirror, cherish the hard-won environment for peaceful development, and be angry and strong. ”
In order to enrich the content of red tourism, Liugong Island has built a cultural and tourism complex focusing on teaching, conference affairs and experience, and has successively implemented strict protection of 58 cultural relics buildings, accumulatively restored and opened an area of more than 100,000 square meters, and continuously relied on cultural relics resources to create a new situation in red tourism. "We want more audiences to visit here, to be able to feel the hardships of the ancestors and the happiness of the new era, and to better understand the connotation of thinking of danger in times of peace." Li Cuicui said that she and her docent colleagues are still constantly re-excavating the stories behind the Sino-Japanese War and party history, improving the content and form of party history study education and national security education, and striving to spread the red story deeper and farther.
Talking about 16 years of work experience, Li Cuicui is frank that "this is a job that benefits a lifetime".
