Otto: Rescue Mussolini, kidnap the family of the Hungarian regent, the most dangerous man in all of Europe

author:World Archives of Celebrities

As mentioned in the previous issue, Otto finally entered the german high level by persevering in touching the fish, and became the commander-in-chief of the special forces. But before that, the "most dangerous man in Europe" had not studied special operations for a day.

He first went to Iran to cooperate with local armed forces to sabotage the allied supply lines, and was deceived by the Iranians. Later, he tried to carry people on V1 rockets, but all failed, and several of his men were sacrificed. Although Otto repeatedly failed, the German military top brass did not care, and encouraged Otto to be bigger and stronger, and create brilliance.

Finally, on July 25, 1943, Otto was given a big job to save Mussolini.

Mussolini was the leader of Italy's National Fascist Party and a staunch ally of the German army in World War II. However, in the late World War II, he was imprisoned in a secret location by King Emmanuel III of Italy. Fearing that the new Italian government would defect to the Allies, the Fuehrer ordered Otto to rescue Mussolini, a rescue known as Operation Oak.

Soon, Otto led his men to Rome, but they soon ran into a small problem, which was that they had no idea where Mussolini was being held. Otto had to send someone around to inquire, and it took more than half a month before Otto confirmed that Mussolini was imprisoned in the Imperial Terrace of the Grand Sasso Mountain.

The Imperial Terrace is 1800 meters above sea level, surrounded by steep cliffs on all sides, and can only rely on a cable to go back and forth, which is notoriously easy to defend and difficult to attack. After much discussion, Otto decided to parachute in a new way of fighting with a ship, a glider.

On the day of the operation, Otto carried out an impassioned mobilization for war, telling all the soldiers that the operation was very dangerous and that those who were afraid could withdraw on their own. But the soldiers were extremely loyal, and none of them left. But Otto did not expect that the Luftwaffe would also be late, and the plane that was scheduled to arrive at 5 a.m. would not arrive until 11 a.m., so he had to organize a dinner party for the soldiers on the airport.

But the consequences of this decision were disastrous, as the plane's cramped space and very bumpy, causing everyone, including Otto, to spit on the plane and the pilot almost crashed headlong into a cliff.

But even such a group of German troops, who were basically incapacitated, were enough to take over the Italians.

Only to hear Otto shout after getting off the plane: Raise your hands and surrender immediately!

The Italian soldiers immediately raised their hands in unison, indicating that we were familiar with this action.

After that, Otto walked unimpeded into the small black room where Mussolini was being held, and said to him: Leader, I have come on the orders of the Fuehrer, and now you are free.

This rescue was later known as the most legendary rescue operation in World War II, and it was also a highlight of Otto's legendary life.

After rescuing Mussolini, Otto was set up as a model representative by the German army, and he himself was a businessman who knew how to package, so he soon became famous all over the world, and gradually became the title of "the most dangerous man in Europe".

Because of the excellent completion of this mission, the German army felt that Otto was a man who could do great things, so he was given another task to assassinate the Allied Triumvirate in Tehran, namely Roosevelt, Stalin and Churchill. For this kind of task that is clearly sent to death, Otto also knows that he can't complete it at all, so he directly treats it as if he didn't see it.

The Germans may have realized that this task was indeed too difficult, so they gave Otto a different mission to assassinate Tito in Yugoslavia. If the difficulty of assassinating the Three Giants is SSS, then the assassination of Tito is also SS, and it is also a white gift. But Otto was not good at disobeying for the second time, and could only agree to it with a hard scalp.

Otto then organized two air raids, but due to intelligence errors, one landed next to the Yugoslav Officers' School, and once simply landed in the Yugoslav Resistance Army's artillery cover, and the soldiers all landed in boxes.

After the failure of the operation, Otto took the opportunity to return to Berlin for a period of rest, at which point he was given a second task to capture the family of General Horti, the regent of Hungary. Because Holty's only youngest son, Miklas, had a nickname called "Mickey", the operation was also known as "Mickey Mouse".

The operation was quite successful, and Otto first kidnapped Miklas as a threat to Holti. After Horthy said he would never surrender, Otto led his men to attack Castle Hill in the dark at 3 a.m., capturing buda Castle, the Hungarian palace, at the cost of less than ten people.

At 6 a.m., Horthy was forced to sign a declaration of abdication at the palace, appointing Count Salah as the new Prime Minister of Hungary.

The lightning-fast decapitation made Otto the "most dangerous man in Europe", but germany was already weakening, and one or two successful operations were far from turning the building upside down.

At this time, Otto received the last task of his German career, Operation Griffin

By the end of 1944, the Germans had been defeated on the frontal battlefield, and the Fuehrer had to pin his hopes on special operations, the Ardennes counterattack. In order to ensure the smooth operation, he summoned Otto and ordered him to form a special unit, the 150th Armored Brigade.

The force would be equipped with U.S. vehicles, weapons and clothing and related documents to blend in with U.S. forces, seize bridges near the Meuse River, and create chaos among allies.

The Fuehrer gave Otto the supreme authority, indicating that all troops would cooperate with his actions, but soon Otto found that the task was a terrifying crater.

According to the plan, the German army should give Otto 2500 soldiers who are proficient in English, but after searching the whole army, only 10 people can use English fluently, and the others are not even as good as American elementary school students, only simple YES and NO.

In addition, because Germany had even lost the battle at that time, it did not capture The American equipment, and only 2 "Shermans", 2 American armored vehicles and less than 100 Jeeps were cobbled together, and finally had to be repainted with German equipment to camouflage it.

But it was such a force that was all accidents that achieved surprising results, and one of the lieutenants named William Schmidt played a key role.

When he learned that his superior was Otto, he rushed to the headquarters and asked if we were going to attack Paris and assassinate General Eisenhower. In order to prevent the planned leak, Otto said no comment.

But no one expected that Schmidt was later captured by the Allies and truthfully confessed the plan. For a time, the whole of Paris was full of soldiers, and the streets and alleys were plastered with Otto's portraits, so Eisenhower was imprisoned in the headquarters and did not come out for most of the year.

In addition to the turmoil in Paris, the entire Allied forces also began a very strict question-and-answer game, and the questions were all some cold knowledge that the old United States did not necessarily know, and as a result, many Allied generals were regarded as spies because they could not answer the questions.

So where is Otto at this point? He had already returned home to recuperate.

But this farce did not save the defeated German army, and on April 20, 1945, Otto, who was far away in the Alps, received the news that the Fuehrer had committed suicide and Germany had been defeated, and then he disbanded his troops and formally surrendered to the American army.

Ironically, as the most dangerous man in Europe at the time, he was ultimately not tried, but recruited by the CIA. After that, he began to brush up on his presence around the world, to deliver Nazi lust to Franco, to teach Nasser to train the army, to help the Mossad fight Egypt, and so on until 1970, when he finally tossed and turned and returned to Spain.

On July 5, 1975, Europe's most dangerous man died in Madrid at the age of 67.
