Scenery in many parts of the world is always unworthy of its name: exaggerated or unspeakable. The surprise of hearing is always less, and the one who sees it is inferior to what he hears is often the most.
The Dolomites region, a mountain group in the eastern part of the northern Italian Alps, is an exception, and the name "God's Back Garden in the Alps" seems to be worthy of the name.
The town of Ortisei is located in the Val Gardena valley, which is like a hibiscus out of the water, fresh and unworldly, a place that you don't want to go when you come, a town that will make people dream and want to go again.
In late September 2021, a group of seven people of three generations stayed at a family hotel in Otisei and spent eight unforgettable days.
This is an ordinary three-story house built on the hillside.
The first floor where the host family lives, due to the influence of the slope, it feels like the usual negative first floor, but it does not affect the lighting of the room in the slightest. There is also a small but well-kept garden on the ground floor with a variety of tables and chairs next to it, a great place to watch the view and soak up the sun.
We live on the entire second floor and have three bedrooms, one of which also has a children's bed;
A kitchen-cum-dining room, a living-large dining room with child seats by the table and two bathrooms. All the rooms are clean and spotlessly clean, making it hard to wear shoes to enter the door.
The kitchen is fully equipped with kitchenware, and the various cups, plates, knives and forks shine brightly. In this temporary home, we used our own spices to make delicious Chinese food, and we also ate three hot pot meals.
Each room has access to either an open or enclosed balcony from which it can be accessed to the garden on the ground floor.
I particularly liked the staggered, open or enclosed balconies in different orientations, and the easily accessible ground floor gardens. Because here no matter what the weather, in what direction, indoor or outdoor, sitting, standing, or even lying down can see -
Under the clear blue sky, towering dolomite peaks;
Grasslands lit up sequentially by morning light;
Clear skies and forests after rain;
The peaks of the mountains that are gradually dyed red by the setting sun;
White farmhouses embedded in green grasslands loom in the fog.
