Tianshan Network News (reporter Zheng Yiyuan reported) On the evening of December 2, with the chess queen Hou Yifan logging into Tencent Classroom to connect with Xinjiang chess players, the 2021 National Western University Chess Promotion Project Xinjiang Branch was launched. The event was hosted by the Chess Association of the Autonomous Region and co-organized by Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics and the IHBA Chess Club.

"Xinjiang chess friends, hello everyone! I have not been to Xinjiang yet, and I hope to take a walk and take a look at Xinjiang next time. At the branch venues of Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics and The Yiheba Chess Club, Hou Yifan greeted everyone through video, and college students and chess fans, national chess coaches and small chess friends applauded thunderously.

Hou Yifan is now a professor at Shenzhen University, who has won the National Elephant Women's World Championship four times and is now ranked first in the National Elephant World Women's Championship.

Facing a pair of eyes from Xinjiang eager to improve chess skills, Hou Yifan elaborated on the historical origin and development process of modern chess, the development of chess in China's colleges and universities, and the experience of chess skills and tactics.

"Sister Hou Yifan, the chess situation is in the ascendant during the game, how to deal with it?" "Teacher Hou, how to cultivate children's strong interest in chess?" After throwing one question after another to the chess, Hou Yifan tirelessly answered them one by one. Unconsciously, it was time for more than an hour of communication. After the chess, they waved goodbye, and the Xinjiang chess friends clinged to it.

Mustafa Maihemuti, chairman of the Autonomous Region Chess Association, said: "The online lecture of world champion Hou Yifan provides an opportunity for Xinjiang chess lovers to exchange chess skills and discuss the culture of national chess, which will drive more people to understand and enter the world of chess. In the future, we will further increase the promotion and popularization of chess in colleges and universities, primary and secondary schools, and let chess blossom everywhere. ”
