The reporter learned that as of the end of October, Yan'an City has completed the investment of 1.96 billion yuan in water conservancy fixed assets, built 362 various water supply projects, 45 silt dams, 30 ecological waterlogging ponds, treated 10 small watersheds, 28 kilometers of small and medium-sized rivers, and treated 780 square kilometers of soil erosion.

Tong Xiaozheng, member of the party group and deputy director of the Yan'an Municipal Water Affairs Bureau, said that under the strong leadership of the Yan'an Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, Yan'an City was listed as the first batch of "National Water and Soil Conservation High-quality Development Pilot Zones" in the country, and for four consecutive years was rated as the province's water conservancy work evaluation and effectiveness outstanding grade.

Safe drinking water in rural areas has been comprehensively consolidated and upgraded. The Yan'an Municipal Water Affairs Bureau has built 362 water supply projects of various types (362% of the 100 annual target tasks), which has significantly improved the safe drinking water situation of 147,500 rural people. During the severe drought from June to August, the Municipal Water Affairs Bureau launched a level IV emergency response in a timely manner, in accordance with the principle of "first live, then produce", fully tapped the potential of water supply of various water conservancy projects, actively carried out the joint operation and scheduling of storage and introduction, and actively called emergency water distribution trucks to deliver water to the masses for areas that are difficult to cover water sources, so as to ensure the maximum protection of water for the masses.

The work of the river and lake chief system has been deepened. The three major systems of the river and lake chief system have been continuously improved, the responsibilities of river and lake chiefs at all levels have been further implemented, the "thousand-person pollution control action" has been carried out, and the prevention and control of water pollution has been taken as an important part of the assessment of the implementation of the river and lake chief system at all levels and departments, and the river and lake chief system and water pollution prevention and control work in various counties and districts have been implemented for 43 consecutive months, which has effectively guaranteed the full implementation of the responsibility for river and lake management and protection.
