Jiuwan folklore: In ancient times, this place in Jiuwan was close to the East China Sea, and there was a large pond on the coast, which is today's Xiangjian Lake, and there is a spring on the west side of the pond, and the spring water leads directly to the East Sea, which is called Laolong Tan. There are fishermen surnamed Chen on the side of the pond, who fish in Chen Tang all year round for a living. In this year, the princes of Dayuhui, Jiuding, divided into nine states, and then the king of Dingxia was all at Tushan. In order to rule the world, a pass was set up here, and a great general named Li Jing was sent to guard the pass. After Li Jing arrived, he asked the people what was the name of this pond? The people replied that there was no name, and asked what was the surname of the fisherman who was fishing? Answered by the surname Chen. Li Jing thought about it and said: Let's call it Chen Tangguan! Subsequently, stonemasons and carpenters were recruited to build Chen Tangguan, and at the same time a mansion called Li Mansion was built. However, he forgot one big thing, that is, the Dragon King Temple was not built. Later, he married Qianjin, a local zhang surnamed Dahu, and gave birth to two sons, named Jinzha and Muzha respectively. Soon after, after three years and six months of pregnancy, Madame gave birth to a ball of meat. Suddenly, a boy jumped out of it. Li Jing was sullen and unhappy, but a Daoist chief named Taiyi Zhenren came to Hexi, named the child Nezha, accepted him as an apprentice, and gave him two treasures on the spot: Qiankun Circle and Hun Tianya.
Since Li Jing did not worship the Dragon King, this made Ao Guang, the Dragon King of the East Sea, very angry. When Nezha was seven years old, the sky was dry and the earth was cracked, the East Sea Dragon King did not rain for several months, even the water in Chen Tang dried up, and the people of Jiuwan had no harvest. Li Jing led the people to think of many ways, dug deep wells to quench water thirst, and soon, dug 72 wells to solve the drought problem. The East Sea Dragon King saw that a plan could not be achieved, and he had another plan, and ordered the green snake and the white snake in the old dragon pond of Chengjing to go to the sea to rob the boys and girls. Nezha saw the righteous courage and killed the green snake and the white snake with the Qiankun circle, and killed Ao Bing, the son of the Dragon King, who came to reinforcement. The Dragon King went to the Heavenly Palace to file a complaint, and on the way, he was beaten half to death by Nezha. Therefore, the East Sea Dragon King invited three brothers to discuss a plan of revenge.
After some conspiracy, the Dragon King of the Four Seas led the shrimp soldiers and crabs to flood Chen Tangguan, and seeing that the water was rising, he surrendered Nezha before he was willing to collect the troops. Nezha wanted to fight back, but was blocked by Li Jing and took Nezha's two magic weapons. For the sake of the safety of the whole city, Nezha stepped forward and killed himself in grief and indignation. Afterwards, Taiyi Zhenren borrowed lotus flowers and fresh lotuses as his body, so that Nezha could return his soul to the world. After his resurrection, Nezha held a fire spear and stepped on the hot wheel, made a big fuss in the Dragon Palace, defeated the Dragon King, and eliminated the harm for the people.
Today, there is still a water well that can be used in the northwest corner of Jiuwan Bay, which is called "Nezha Well" by the local people. The green bricks around the well are abundant, the water quality is pure, cool and delicious, because the mineral content is full, and it can also play a role in prolonging life.
Zhang Gongkuo, an 88-year-old local man, said: "The 72-sided wells in Jiuwan have names; there are bodhisattva wells, holy water springs, jinzha wells, wooden wells, Qinglong temple open, White Dragon Temple wells, holy spring temple wells, etc. But due to their disrepair and dryness, this is the 'Nezha well' that has been preserved to this day. ”
