Barca hopes the plan will be approved and the Camp Nou renovation will cost 1.5 billion euros and be completed by 2025. If the project is approved, Barca may play some games in an empty stadium next season to facilitate the work. In the 2023-24 season, Barca may use other stadiums as home, according to reporter Samuel Marsden, Catalonia's Luis Companese Olympic Stadium will be a potential option. In the 2024-25 season, Barca will return to camp Nou, but the stadium will still be partially closed to complete the work.
At the press conference, Barca CEO Revert said that the revamp camp Nou will add 200 million euros in revenue to the club every year, including performances, commercial events and so on. The club is expected to invest 1.5 billion euros, the project is invested by investors, does not cost the partners' money, will not affect sports management, and the equity will never be used as collateral. Financing will be completed in 35 years, 5 years of construction + 30 years of management, planned to start construction this summer, and complete in 2025.
Of the €1.5 billion, 900 million was used for the renovation of Camp Nou, 420 million for the construction of surrounding facilities, €100 million for urbanization and academy construction around the stadium, €60 million for urban investment, and the remaining €20 million for the construction of the John Cruyff Stadium.
