The new version of the wilderness gives a new angle in the interpretation of the text, through the combination of different versions of the original text, presenting a version that conforms to the current aesthetic and viewing rhythm, "so that the audience feels nervous and suffocated, there is an extreme sense of perception." Director Yan Rui introduced, "This play is not telling a simple revenge story. Rather, it is a dilemma, a human dilemma, which is a big proposition. People want to break through this barrier and eventually run to an ideal spiritual world, which is what we want to express, to show fresh people and lives on the stage. ”
After the premiere ended, Zhang Keying breathed a sigh of relief, "Tired, acting in this play is really tired, but very enjoyable!" Behind the successful completion of the performance, in fact, there was a small accident, in order to show the desolate feeling of the wilderness, this time the stage was designed as an irregular slope, which had many potholes, "As soon as the opening came, I stepped on the pothole, almost did not stand, I was a little panicked, fortunately stood; there was also a tall puppet that blocked me, and its stick poked in front of me, when I accidentally fell to the ground." Fortunately, the audience did not see that it was an accident, and when she returned to the side stage, she adjusted the rhythm and mentality in time and then went on to continue the performance.
While Zhang Keying felt that the performance was too enjoyable, the audience under the stage was even more enjoyable. "Wilderness" is different from Cao Yu's previous works in terms of creative background, drama style and dramatic content, and is therefore recognized as cao Yu's "most difficult to perform" work, "the emotions should be particularly full, some plots need to be expressed explosively, and some must be weakly processed, and it is very important to be relaxed." She admits that such control is too challenging, not only physical, but also psychological.
"Teacher Xu Fan has been very successful in portraying the role of Jinzi before, and we have repeatedly watched, studied and speculated on her videos."
