At 21:13 on November 30, the command center of the Haidong Fire Rescue Detachment received an alarm, and three surveying and mapping personnel were lost and trapped in the mountains when they carried out surveying and mapping operations at No. 373 Ant Forest in Feijia Village, Halazhigou Township, Mutual Aid Turk Autonomous County. After receiving the alarm, the Haidong Fire Rescue Detachment immediately dispatched 5 vehicles and 15 people from the Ping'an District Fire Rescue Brigade to the scene with rescue equipment according to the principle of nearby dispatch, and the detachment's full-time command headquarters 2 vehicles and 6 people accompanied the police. At 22:12, rescuers arrived at the bottom of the mountain where the trapped people were located.

Because the site of the incident was a mountainous area, the road was rough and difficult to navigate, and part of the road was covered with snow, making it impossible to accurately locate the location of the trapped people. According to the situation at the scene, the rescuers decided to divide the troops into two roads, from the north and west sides of the ant forest to the mountain at the same time to carry out search and rescue. In order to be able to accurately locate in a short period of time, fire rescue personnel braved the cold temperature of minus 14 degrees Celsius, and rescuers marched into the mountains while looking for trapped people through shouting, telephone communication, flashlight light search and other methods. After nearly 2 hours of arduous travel, rescuers found the location of the trapped people.

There are two large mountains separated between the rescuers and the trapped people on the north side, and the slope slope is close to about 80 degrees, which cannot meet the trapped people, and it is particularly difficult to rescue them. At the same time, rescuers on the west side, led by local guides, also got in touch with the trapped people and successfully joined the trapped people at the slower mountain on the west side. Long-term field activities, coupled with the influence of severe cold and high altitude, led to the phenomenon of physical weakness and slow walking of the three trapped people. After a simple meal at the scene to replenish their physical strength, rescuers helped the three trapped people to transfer from east to west. At 4:08 a.m. on December 1, after crossing 6 large mountains, 3 trapped people were successfully rescued to the bottom of the mountain. At 4:22 a.m. on December 1, rescuers handed over the trapped people to their families and medical staff, and after checking that the three people had good vital signs and were not traumatized or life-threatening.
