68. Chapter 68 of the Tao Te Ching: Virtue is indisputable, the good warrior is not angry, and the good warrior is not armed

Introduction: The whole article is divided into three parts: [original] [translation] [feeling], about 2200 words.

Those who are good at soldiers are not armed, those who are good at fighting are not angry, those who are good at defeating the enemy are not with him, and those who are good at using people are subordinate. It is said that it is indisputable virtue, it is said that it is the use of human strength, it is said to match the heavens, and it is the extreme of ancients.
1. [Shi] Samurai 2. [With] Confront the enemy head-on 3. [For the below] Under the person 4. [Matching] compliant 5. [Pole] Extreme

A general who is good at leading troops to fight a war does not act bravely; those who are good at fighting a war do not easily get angry; those who are good at defeating the enemy and winning victory do not confront the enemy head-on; those who are good at employing people are instead under the crowd.

This is called the virtue of not arguing with others, and this is called the ability of others to be willing to be able to "not argue" and "deal with the situation", which is the ultimate of "conformity with the Tao".

68. Chapter 68 of the Tao Te Ching: Virtue is indisputable, the good warrior is not angry, and the good warrior is not armed

Allow me to repeat here a content, that is, I once summarized the "Fourteen Virtues" of the Tao Te Ching in "Fifty-Four Chapters: Good Construction, Good Embrace, Sacrifice Without Dropout, and Inheritance from Generation to Generation", because that article has not been read more than a hundred times, and it is estimated that not many people have seen it, so I will continue to emphasize it in this article, because I really think this kind of summary Dafa is very good. Of course, the amount of reading of this article may also be worrying, it is okay, learning is the process of "learning from the past and learning the new", I should fry myself a cold rice and learn again:

Good Deeds – No Traces (27)

Kind Words - Flawless Who (27)

Good Numbers - No Planning (27)

Good Closure - Irrelevant and Unopenable (27)

Good knots - unsolvable without cords (27)

Good Construction - Not Pulling Out(54)

Good hug - do not take off (54)

Victory over Goodness - No Dispute (73)

Kindness - Unspoken (73)

Good Strategy-----------------

Good Deeds - Not Martial (68)

The Good Warrior - Not Angry (68)

Victory over the enemy - not to confront (meaning not to confront the enemy) (68)

Make good use of people - for the sake of the bottom (68)

(Numbers in parentheses represent chapters)

Continuing with the last sentence of chapter 67 above, "This chapter continues to use the metaphor of "how to fight" as "no dispute", and Chairman Mao said that the "Tao Te Ching" is a book of soldiers, that is, with the concept of "no dispute", how to use soldiers to fight wars.

Soldier book, too. The magic of this book is that it changes with your heart. Whatever problem you face, it can become seventy-two problems that you solve. It is right to say that it is any book, but it is not any book, it is it.

Looking at the sentence in the previous chapter, "" is becoming more and more reasonable: everyone in the world says that the "Tao" I am talking about is too big, and it seems that nothing is like anything. But because it is big, it is like nothing, so it can be all-encompassing, if it is like any specific thing, then the pattern is small, isn't it?

It is the expression of "indisputable virtue", how to do it specifically? I'm not qualified to say either. But my vague realization is that the difference between saints and mortals is:

Mortals know to do this, and they understand it. Don't get angry, get angry and hurt your body; don't use force, gentlemen don't move their hands, and peace is precious; don't confront people head-on and tit-for-tat. At the same time, I also try to restrain myself from deliberately doing this, but sometimes I can't restrain it, and sometimes I restrain it very hard, because everything is a superficial level of perception, not from the heart.

And the mentality of the saint, I think it should be from the heart of "not to argue" and "willing to go down", there is no inner struggle at all, everything is natural, I feel that it should be so. Such a realm is estimated to be incomprehensible by hard work, and it is likely that the harder you try, the more you will not understand it. Maybe you can only engage in grinding, and you will realize things.

68. Chapter 68 of the Tao Te Ching: Virtue is indisputable, the good warrior is not angry, and the good warrior is not armed

Empty talk big truth has no feeling, I myself thought of a few life trivia "clinical trials" of myself. Suppose, for example, that someone speaks harshly and slanders my children, parents, and myself. It must be uncomfortable to hear in my heart, should I be angry?

I noticed that I unconsciously and naturally used the word "should" and "should." This is the consciousness that the brain gives me, and it is also the education of ethics and morality from childhood to adulthood that plays a subtle role. This consciousness seems to be telling me that you should be angry in this situation, you can be angry.

The truth is I could really get angry. But is there any other way? If I ignore him, I will have a second consciousness - you are afraid of him, bullying is afraid of hard and spineless. Driven by this awareness, I will think that I will not be angry and faceless, and then I will return to the dead cycle of "I should be angry".

In fact, this "faceless" consciousness has nothing to do with the initial scolding. Life is like a drama, when you are angry, what is the difference between this and acting? I fell into contemplation.

I admit that sometimes I do "get angry for the sake of anger", in fact, I am not so angry when I hear some unqualified bad words to me, but my body is very honest and feels as if it is impossible to do something. Specific things are analyzed specifically, I dare not say one hundred percent, after all, I am not a saint, and some situations do not need to be angry.

What if I could see each other as babies? If the baby hit me, I certainly wouldn't hit me back, and I wouldn't have seen him the same way. I probably also think he's interacting with me, he's so cute, it's a bit of a. I was a bit arrogant about this idea, but it did convince myself. Next time if unfortunately I encounter it, I'll give it a try.

Suppose another scene, sports competition, also count as a "battle". Playing with people, table tennis, badminton, football, basketball are OK, someone will make themselves excited before the game, this is not angry, appropriate excitement can mobilize their own state.

But if the other party has ulterior motives and deliberately provokes you with words and body movements, making you a big mess. Or the other party did not do anything to you at all, you are simply because you can't afford to lose and are provoked by your backward self, this situation is likely to lose. Regardless of whether we win or lose, the level is inherently high or low, we may always meet someone stronger than ourselves, and meet an angry once?

To adjust, I would like to reiterate the three pleasures written in chapter sixty-six:

Primary happiness - the joy of competition, and winning is just a low-level repetition, indicating that you have not met a real master;

Intermediate happiness - non-competitive happiness, the pursuit of happiness beyond oneself;

Advanced happiness – unconditional happiness.

Fighting with others, of course, you are happy to win, but then you will also be empty, continue to look for the next imaginary enemy, follow the rhythm of others, easy to be passive. Set the goal as yourself, and constantly surpass yourself at your own pace, and the fun is endless. And to do that, it's just intermediate happiness. Unconditional high-level happiness, I have not yet understood.

Having said all this, I am still saying - no dispute.
