According to the National Broadcasting Corporation of the United States, on the afternoon of November 27, local time, a man in Texas accidentally opened fire and killed his 11-year-old daughter during the hunting process.
The accident reportedly occurred in Harrison County, northeast Texas, where local dispatchers received a call for help confirming that the 11-year-old girl had been accidentally shot by her father, who was pulling out a bullet from a large-fire gun and the gun opened fire. Due to bad weather in the area, all rescue helicopters were grounded, and the seriously injured girl was escorted by police to a hospital in Langview, where she was declared dead.
Harrison County Sheriff said the investigation was still ongoing and that the shooting was a tragic accident for both the father and daughter. The girl, Daisy Grace Lynn George, is a sixth-grader in the Hallsville Independent School District, but police have not disclosed her father's identity and have not issued any charges of crime against him.
