Dakar, 1 Dec (Xinhua) -- On 30 November local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Foreign Minister Abenonsi in Dakar while attending the Eighth Ministerial Meeting of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

Wang Yi said that under the personal care and guidance of the two heads of state, China-Bangladesh relations have developed healthily and steadily, and cooperation in various fields has continued to make progress. China and Beibei have joined hands to help each other, unite against the epidemic, and further consolidate friendship. China appreciates the support of the Nepalese side in safeguarding its core interests and major concerns, and will continue to firmly support the Nepalese side in opposing foreign interference and independently choosing the development path. China is willing to work with the Berber side to deepen cooperation in various fields and promote new achievements in bilateral relations.

Abenonsi said that President Xi Jinping's speech at the opening ceremony of the forum is very important and exciting, which will not only effectively enhance the level of Africa-China cooperation, but also bring new opportunities for Bangladesh-China cooperation. Benin adheres to the one-China principle and will continue to firmly support China's legitimate position. The Beninese side is satisfied with the high-quality cooperation between the two countries and thanks the Chinese side for its support and assistance for Benin's economic transformation and upgrading. China was the first to provide anti-epidemic materials to Benin, the first to provide vaccines to Benin, and strongly supported Benin's successful control of the epidemic, and the Bei side is deeply grateful. We are willing to vigorously expand mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy and trade, tourism, export of special products, and personnel training.

The two sides agreed to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year as an opportunity to push bilateral relations to a new level.
