After the success of seedling breeding, Xiawa Town promoted the planting of winter dates in a large area, and planted more than 3,000 mu of winter dates in Zhangsan, Mawu and other villages.
Binzhou City Is located in the Alluvial Plain of the Yellow River Delta, bordering the Bohai Bay, and the saline and alkaline Yellow River soil is not conducive to traditional grain cultivation, but it provides suitable growth conditions for winter dates.
Around 2000, the winter dates produced by a winter jujube tree in the courtyard of the peasants could be sold for three or four thousand yuan, which was higher than the income of crops in two or three acres of land.
