BEIJING, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- The six-day 2021 Future Science Prize Week has come to an end, and nearly 100 experts and scholars have achieved "cloud linkage". This year, the Permanent Endowment Fund was officially launched with a view to "making the Future Science Prize permanent."

Affected by the new crown pneumonia epidemic, this year's grand prize week is mainly online and offline, including the 2021 Future Science and Art Exhibition, the winners' academic report meeting, the science summit, the winners' dialogue with young people and other series of activities.

At the Science Summit, the participating experts focused on stem cells and regenerative medicine, artificial regulation of quantum, cosmic origin, habitable planets, deep space exploration, algebraic geometry, number theory, geometric topology, artificial intelligence and life sciences, chips and other subdivisions around the fields of life sciences, physics, chemistry, astronomy, mathematics, and computers, and shared cutting-edge scientific achievements.

The three academic presentations of the Future Science Prize were held at the University of Hong Kong, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Online. The winners not only elaborated on the award-winning achievements, but also shared their scientific research life and thoughts on the future development of science.

It is worth mentioning that in 2019, Shen Nanpeng made a commitment to "perpetuate the Future Science Award" on behalf of the donor at the conference, and initiated the establishment of a permanent endowment fund with a total of $100 million in addition to the original annual donation.

Wang Qiang, Chairman of the Future Science Prize Donor Conference 2021, announced that he has fulfilled the commitment of the full share, the permanent endowment fund has been officially launched, and will be fully responsible for all the expenses of the award in 2025, that is, the tenth anniversary of the grand prize.
