On November 25, Moore Thread, a domestic GPU chip start-up, announced the development of the first domestic full-featured GPU, "built-in self-developed 3D graphics computing core, AI training and inference computing core, high-performance parallel computing core, ultra-high-definition video codec computing and other cores". According to the official, the development of this GPU took only 300 days.

Previously, Moore Thread has just completed a 2 billion series of financing, and the funds obtained will be used for the mass production and manufacturing of GPU chips, IP research and development related to GPU SoCs, and the expansion of the domestic GPU ecosystem. This is also the third round of financing completed by Moore Thread in one year, which shows the degree of optimism of the capital market.

In addition to moore threads, other domestic GPU companies have also made some breakthroughs.

On November 16, Jingjiawei officially announced that its JM9 series has completed the tape-out, packaging and preliminary testing work. According to the test results, this chip can meet the needs of high-performance display and artificial intelligence computing needs such as geographic information systems, media processing, CAD-aided design, games, virtualization, etc.

On November 17, Schidec Technology announced the successful testing of the first domestic high-performance server-level GPU "Fenghua No. 1". This GPU is equipped with the world's top GDDR6X and chiplet technology, which will play a great role in 5G data centers, cloud games, meta-universes and other fields.

With the continuous development of AI, 5G and other technologies, the importance of GPUs will also be further enhanced, so the development of domestic GPUs has also reached an urgent point. Although the performance of domestic GPUs is still a certain distance from international hegemons such as NVIDIA and AMD, it is exciting enough to achieve a breakthrough from scratch.
