After the battle was fought in Wen'an Reed Pond 丨 May 1, the 10th Sub-district of Jizhong was rebuilt

Author introduction is currently not available.

During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the 10th Military Subdistrict of Jizhong was located between the strategic points of Ping, Tianjin and Bao, and directly threatened the base camp of the Japanese army in North China, so the Japanese army regarded it as a thorn in the eye and a thorn in the flesh, and tried to destroy it all the time.

Since 1938, the Japanese army has begun the first major "sweep" of the Tenth Division. On May 1, 1942, under the command of Okamura Ningji, commander of the North China Front, more than 50,000 Japanese troops and puppet troops were concentrated to launch a large-scale "sweep" in the central area of the Hebei Central Military Region, in a vain attempt to annihilate our main force and completely occupy the Jizhong Great Plain.

In order to smash the enemy's conspiracy and persist in the anti-Japanese guerrilla war behind enemy lines, the leaders of the Jizhong Military Region and the sub-district also made arrangements for the work of restoring the Tenth Sub-District while preparing to face the enemy's "May Day" "sweep." At that time, the sub-district organs and the main force were still active in the deep (county), Wu (Qiang), Rao (Yang), and An (Ping) areas in the hinterland of Central Hebei, and Shuai Rong, the political commissar of the sub-district, first sent me (who was then the chief of the people's movement section) and Qian Dake, chief of the enemy engineering section, to lead several cadres to set off from the Anping area to the north to explore the way for the troops to return to the Tenth Sub-district for recovery work.

We first arrived at Baiyangdian and then to Wen'anwa, relying on the large reed pond in Wen'anwa as a springboard for the restoration of the tenth division.

After the battle was fought in Wen'an Reed Pond 丨 May 1, the 10th Sub-district of Jizhong was rebuilt

Strive for the puppet army to clear the way for us to march

In May 1942, just as the Japanese army was carrying out a "May Day" sweep" of the hinterland of our Hebei Province, Shuai Rong, the political commissar of the sub-district, led a small number of organ personnel and guards into Wen'anwa, contemplating how to cross the Daqing River and enter the Big Reed Pond.

At this critical moment, Liu Fengquan, the former commander of the wu, an, and yong detachments of the outer army, defected and became the commander of the puppet army brigade, and was entrenched in the town of Xin'an in the eastern part of Baxian County. It is a large town with a thousand families, only 5 kilometers away from Daweitang. As we reached north from The Reed Pond, we first passed through the defense zone of Liu Fengquan's pseudo-department, so Xin'an became the first obstacle for us to enter the Reed Pond.

When Liu Fengquan rebelled, he did not kill our political work cadres, but went to stay free, and after leaving, he ensured safety, and those who remained continued to be appointed. This is Liu Fengquan's way back left on the Eighth Route Army. Wu Xiusheng, the original political director of the detachment, was one of the ones left behind, but he did not serve in Liu Bu's puppet army, and Liu Fengquan secretly raised his family in Zhongkou Village, and sent two people named to protect him, which was actually surveillance, and lived with him in Zhongkou.

When I was studying at Yongqing County Cunshi Middle School, Wu was my English teacher and had a teacher-student friendship with me. Therefore, I wrote him a letter, analyzed the situation, explained the future, and sought him to continue to contribute to the anti-Japanese resistance. The letter was sent by Han Shitan, an officer of the enemy engineering. Wu replied that he was willing to help us do Liu Fengquan's work. So Shuai Rong decided that I would go to Wu Xiusheng first.

One day at dawn, Han Shitan and I infiltrated han's home at the dock under the enemy stronghold of Suqiao from Wen'anwa. We dressed up like two Japanese spies and went to Zhongkou Village to find Wu Xiusheng. He was very happy to see me, and went to Xin'an Town on the same day to report my arrival, and Liu asked him to take me to Xin'an the next day to meet him.

At that time, there were Japanese troops stationed in Xin'an Town, and Liu lived in another place and was not with the Japanese. On this day, Liu Fengquan set up a banquet for me, accompanied by Wu Xiusheng, during which he confessed to me his "unavoidable" bitterness and was willing to secretly help resist Japan, and our troops could covertly move in his defense zone. I immediately appreciated his behavior of "being in Cao Ying's heart in Han" and promised to go back and report to the leader.

After the battle was fought in Wen'an Reed Pond 丨 May 1, the 10th Sub-district of Jizhong was rebuilt

Later, the leaders of the sub-district transferred Qu Shaojian, who had worked together with Liu Fengquan in the Wu, An, and Yong detachments, to the political department of the sub-district to serve as deputy chief of the enemy engineering section, specializing in Liu's work, and Liu has always kept in touch with us. In fact, Liu is a bad guy who steps on the three boats of Ri, Jiang, and me. The big picture is undecided, and he is holding the line. In 1945, when the defeat of the Japanese army was already timed, he miscalculated the situation, believing that the future Of China, which must be the world of the Chiang family, was determined to defect to the Kuomintang. When our army attacked Baxian County, it deceived us and caused our army to suffer losses; and tied all wu Xiusheng's family, except for one daughter who survived, to a tree and stabbed to death. Subsequently, the homecoming regiment was organized, stubbornly making enemies of us, and finally the homecoming regiment was completely annihilated by the troops of our sub-district in Geyucheng, and Liu was killed on the spot.

At that time, there were 5 puppet armies in Baxian County, in addition to Liu Fengquan and Huang Xibiao, there were also Li Baolun, Yang Maoqing and Wang Deyu.

Li Baolun's brigade headquarters was in Jiazhuang, which was close to the southwest corner of Baxian County, and he had 4 squadrons. One of the squadron commanders, Cui Yuwen, was stationed in Gaozhuang, northwest of the county seat. Cui is a native of Cui Zhuangzi, northwest of Shengfang Town, who served as a landlord's "steward" in Cui Jiawa before and after the July 7 Incident, and Cui and my eldest brother are allied brothers and often have contacts with my family. After the July 7 Incident, he and some bandits played an anti-Japanese signboard, and soon became a puppet army with Li Baolun. In 1939, when the divisional headquarters was regularly active in the xincheng area, I introduced him to Qian Dake, chief of the enemy engineering section of the division, and established working contacts with our side. This time, I returned to the north of Daqing River alone and first went to Gaozhuang to find him. Since I had such a relationship with him, and after meeting him, I knew that he was covering my family, so my conversation with him was very straightforward and did not have to be twisted. From the conversation, I learned that our local cadre Zhang Umbrella was already active in the western region of Baxian County, and I asked him not to be embarrassed by Zhang Umbrella, saying that covering up the activities of local cadres is also a contribution to the confrontation day. In addition, at my request, he also agreed to do Li Baolun's work and was ready to introduce me to meet Li.

On the agreed day, Cui Yuwen took me to Jiazhuang to meet with Li Baolun. Li is a native of The West Ten Houses of Xiawangzhuang Village, and he knows my eldest brother, who expressed his willingness to secretly help the Eighth Route Army resist Japan and gave me a revolver. Another of his squadron commanders, Wang Fengying, was stationed in the Southern Meng stronghold, also from Xiawangzhuang, and was the brother of our guard, Wang Jiamin. Taking advantage of their brethren relationship, I also met with him. Originally, the local work foundation in the western part of Baxian County was good, Zhang Bao was already active in this area, and there were li baolun, Cui Yuwen, Wang Fengying, and other puppet military upper-level relations, so the recovery work in this area was relatively smooth.

When I was studying at Cunshi Middle School in Yongqing County, there was a classmate named Meng Zhaowen, who later changed his name to Meng Zizhen, a native of Hejiabao, Baxian County, who accompanied Wei Daguang to resist the Japanese after the July 7 Incident, and later worked with Wu Xiusheng in the Wu, An, and Yong detachments. After Liu Fengquan's rebellion, he remained as a staff officer in Liu Bu's puppet army. This time I went to the eastern part of Baxian County to carry out work, and first I found him, and he recommended to me Zhai Qinghuang, the mayor of the small town pseudo-large township, because some of Zhai's relatives were in the anti-Japanese troops, so he expressed his best help for our work.

At that time, Yang Maoqing's brigade headquarters was stationed in Tangerli Town, which was also an important stronghold on the Jinba Highway. Yang had two squadrons, stationed in Xinzhang and Cecheng. These two strongholds faced the big reed pond east of Shengfang to the south, and our troops crossed the north of the Daqing River and often camped in the reed pond.

One day, the commander of Xin Zhang's puppet army appealed to Yang Maoqing for help, saying that there were many Eighth Route Army troops in the reed pond south of Xin Zhang, and they wanted to fight Xin Zhang at night (in fact, there was no such thing). Yang Maoqing was also panicked, so he asked Zhai Qinghuang to find a way. It just so happened that I was in this area, and Zhai found me and wanted to take me to Tang Erli to meet with Yang Maoqing and fix his mind. This was exactly what I wanted, so the two of us went to the second hall and met With Yang Maoqing.

Yang confessed to me that he would never oppose the Eighth Route Army and hoped that the Eighth Route Army would understand his grievances. I took the opportunity to publicize to him the situation in the Second World War and the War of Resistance Against Japan, pointed out his way out and future, and asked them to make contributions to the cause of resisting Japan and saving the country in the spirit of "being in Cao Ying's heart in Han" in order to gain the understanding of the people. But they were not at ease, and asked me to go to his Xinzhang stronghold to calm the souls and relieve fears for his men.

I was quite amused that a puppet army captain had turned to a cadre of the Eighth Route Army to protect his subordinates, which showed how weak and frightened they were! But it was also an opportunity for us to do our work, so I agreed. He sent someone to send me to Xin Zhang, the pseudo squadron leader of Xin Zhang, as if to greet me. I stayed overnight and took the opportunity to educate him. Since then, Yang Maoqing's defense zone, our troops can also be stationed in activities.

In this way, the leaders of the four puppet armies of Liu, Li, Huang, and Yang outside the city of Baxian all established contact with us.

The last target we fought for was Wang Deyu, the commander of the false guard brigade in Baxian County, who was a native of Lijiakou, Yongqing County, and a small businessman. The Japanese army appreciated him when it formed the pseudo-self-defense regiment, and gradually promoted him to the rank of wing commander. His intelligence squad leader was Chen Wei, a native of Jiahe Village. In 1938, he worked as a correspondent in the General Affairs Section of the Political Department of the Sub-district. At that time, I was the chief of the General Services Section and knew me well. In the winter of 1938, the first major "sweep" of the Japanese army, the division headquarters withdrew to the South of daqing Henan, on the way he pretended to be sick and asked for leave to go home, and later became a puppet army.

Chen Wei got the news that I often went to the Jiahe area for activities, and he was afraid that we would kill him, so he asked Wang Shan, an office worker in Jiahe Village who specialized in dealing with us, to intercede and asked to meet with me. I promised him and agreed to meet him at Wang Shan's house at a time. He repeatedly said that he could not find the troops when he did not return on sick leave, was threatened by the enemy, had no choice but to become a puppet army, asked for forgiveness, and said that he had never done anything bad after becoming a puppet army. He claimed that he could help me send a letter to Wang Deyu and told me about some of Wang Deyu's situation. So I wrote a letter to Wang Deyu and took him away.

After some days, he saw me again at Wang Shan and said that the letter had been delivered, and the king said that it was inconvenient for him to reply to the letter, and asked him to bring back the message, saying that he would never be a hardcore traitor and was willing to leave a way back for himself.

Wang Deyu's younger brother Wang Deyuan served as a captain under Wang Deyu and was stationed at Cheng Gang. Wang Deyuan also attended Cunshi Middle School, and was a former classmate of me, as well as David Lee, chief of staff of the district, and Chen Zuozhou of the Special Bureau. Later, the 3 of us met with Wang Deyuan in Chenggang, and through him also did the work of winning over Wang Deyu.

After making contact with the upper echelons of the five puppet armies in Baxian County, our units, with the company as units, gained a foothold in Daweitang and some villages on the banks of the Daqing River.

The leading organs of the sub-districts were stationed in Daweitang

For some time to come, although our troops camped in the big reed pond, they had not yet established ideologically the concept of establishing a long-term foundation in the big reed pond. In the autumn of 1942, the restoration work of the entire division was progressing, and the leading organs of the division were to return to the tenth division, command on the spot, and strengthen leadership. Since the leading organs are not combat units in the end, they need to have a relatively safe and stable station, so the big reed pond has become an ideal place.

On the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival in the eighth month of the lunar calendar, Commander Liu Bingyan led the sub-district organs and the guard company to cross the Daqing River from Wen'anwa and take the dozens of fishing and wild duck boats raised in advance to the only island village in the Big Reed Pond - Nanbeilou Village.

After the battle of Dongyihe, Shengfang's enemies were so panicked that they suddenly burned down the two villages of Nanbeilou completely to prevent us from staying. (For this battle, refer to the article "The First Battle of restoring the Tenth Division of Jizhong", with a link at the end of this article)

After we arrived in the village, we only saw the ruins of the wall and a desolate situation, coupled with the fact that the two villages were surrounded by water and inconvenient access, Commander Liu gave up the idea of establishing a foundation here, and asked me to go to the Jin family shop that night to prepare for the establishment of a camp in the deep reed pond of the Han family.

Hanjiaputou is about 2.5 kilometers east of Jinjiaputou, and there is a dry road to connect, but no one walks, and no trace of the road can be found. Taking root in the reed pond, I must have a long-term plan for the problem of eating and living, so I arrested Qiu Shuyuan, the pseudo-mayor of the Jin family.

After the battle was fought in Wen'an Reed Pond 丨 May 1, the 10th Sub-district of Jizhong was rebuilt

Qiu Shuyuan was the mayor of the township here, mainly under the weight of Huang Xibiao, because this was huang xibiao's defense zone. Huang Xibiao needed someone to help him loot the people's wealth, and Qiu Shuyuan also needed to find a patron, so he used huang Xibiao to become a pseudo-township chief. Qiu Shuyuan is a hegemon here, and when our armed forces come, he cannot but consider his own future. Therefore, under our education and struggle, we became the mayor of the township on both sides. The sub-district organs were stationed in Daweitang, and the logistics and supply matters were handled by him.

In addition to Qiu Shuyuan, there is also a squadron leader of the Huangbu puppet army stationed in Jin Jiaputou, Qiu Qinzeng, who is also closely related to us. After Huang Xibiao found out, he was intimidated by the situation, so he sent his chief of staff, Wang Junshi, to the home of Qiu Qinzeng, the head of the Jin family, to meet with Commander Liu Bingyan, Deputy Director Li Kongliang, Deputy Chief of Staff Li David, and Chief of the Engineering Section of Qu Shaojian's Enemy, and me, and to further establish relations with us in the future. But Qiu Qinzeng was wary of Huang, worried that Huang would make a move against him, and asked what to do then. We said: "In the current situation, the environment is still more difficult, you try to maintain the current situation as much as possible, and guard the gate of the reed pond of the Jin family shop in your current capacity, which is not small." In case Huang Xibiao has something to do to you, you will pull the team over, and we will support you and kill Huang Xibiao. He said: "Whether I can fix our relationship, I also have a landing in my heart." ”

The next day, Commander Liu told me that he had consulted with the political commissar and decided to appoint Qiu Qinzeng as the captain of the Daqinghe Brigade of the Tenth Sub-district in the name of the sub-district headquarters and asked me to write a letter of appointment to him. After receiving this, he was very happy, saying that in the future he would be a member of the Eighth Route Army, and that no matter what he was told, he would resolutely carry out the order, and from then on, it would be more convenient and safe for our people to enter and exit the big reed pond from the Jin family's shop.

Sometimes at night the troops came back from outside, could not find the way, and walked to the bottom of the watchtower, and his guard post led the way to the intersection of the big reed pond. With Qiu Shuyuan helping us solve the supply problem, and With Qiu Qinzeng as a cover, it provided us with favorable conditions for taking root in The Great Reed Pond.

Attack the great reed pond to annihilate the enemy puppet army

In July 1942, the Party Committee of Jizhong District decided to divide Wenxin County (i.e., Lianhe County of Wen'an Yangxin Town) from eight sub-districts to ten sub-districts, called "Silian County" of the tenth sub-district. This county was only one river away from BaXian County in the Tenth Division, and Wen'anwa was the center of activity in this county at that time. The big reed pond and the Wen'anwa lips and teeth are dependent on each other, and the comrades of Silian County cross the river to the big reed pond when necessary, and there are many room for maneuver.

In the autumn of 1942, wen'anwa's rice was growing very well, and before it was time for harvesting, the Japanese army actually ordered that the people of Wen'anwa should not be allowed to keep a grain for themselves, and that all the harvested rice must be sent to the Japanese army, saying that it was to be exchanged for corn and other miscellaneous grains. In fact, it is completely naked plunder. They threatened to shoot rice from anyone's house.

According to the instructions of the prefectural party committee, the Silian County Party Committee mobilized all forces and carried out a rice protection struggle in which the two forms of struggle, illegal and legal, cooperated with each other. When the enemy's armed forces come to grab it, we will resolutely strike hard with our arms; when the enemy and puppet organizations come to collect it, we will mobilize the pseudo-big townships and armor to resist softly and hard in a legal form, win time, and cover the masses to quickly collect, fight quickly, and hide quickly.

Because this struggle is closely related to the vital interests of the masses and even has a direct interest in some puppet armies and organizations, they all have their support and work together to deal with the Japanese army. Through this struggle, the closer military-civilian relations have expanded the political influence of our party and our army, smashed the Japanese army's conspiracy to grab rice, and made our supply more secure.

The Wenxin Brigade is a brave and resourceful unit with strong combat effectiveness. The captain of the brigade is chu Guo'en. Before the "May Day" anti-"sweep", they disguised themselves as migrant workers and entered the enemy's Stronghold of Jiang Zhuangzi and slashed and killed more than 20 Japanese troops with axes. After being divided into Silian County, there were Wen'anwa and Daweitang as support on both sides of the Daqing River, and the county brigade was more active. Commander Liu also personally led a team to the Daqing River to command some battles, and played an active defensive role in The Great Reed Pond.

After the battle was fought in Wen'an Reed Pond 丨 May 1, the 10th Sub-district of Jizhong was rebuilt

The Japanese army at the head of the river in Andi Prefecture organized a bicycleized "rapid force", which was mixed with a part of the japanese army and a part of the puppet army, with one bicycle per person. At that time, within a range of twenty or thirty kilometers, they only needed to hear the traces of our local cadres or small troops, that is, to ride bicycles to run, which often caused us to suffer losses. So there is a great threat to us, especially to the activities of Sanlian County and plainclothes teams east of the Yongding River. The leaders of the division decided to strike hard at this part of the enemy.

In July 1942, Commander Liu, with a guard company and part of the Forty-third Regional Brigade, was stationed at Huliandian in Anci County. After the enemy's "rapid troops" at the head of the river were informed, they came to attack again, and were attacked by a lightning-type assault by our army, killing more than a dozen Japanese squad leaders and below, and the puppet army fled one after another, and in addition to capturing a batch of weapons, our army also had dozens of bicycles. The victory in this battle greatly increased the morale of our army and destroyed the prestige of the enemy, and all plainclothes teams were also elated. This battle played an important role in continuing to uphold and open up the ba, An ( Sub ) and Yong (Qing) regions.

At that time, the enemies of Shengfang often went to the area north of Shengfang to harass, and if they did not strike at it, it would have an adverse impact on several parts of the puppet army in the eastern part of Baxian County that had established relations with us in "peaceful coexistence.", which would make them mistakenly think that we were bullying the weak and afraid of being tough, so the leaders of the sub-district decided to strike hard at this part of the enemy and take in people.

Around August, Shengfang's enemies went to the village of Beast Head Fang in the north of Shengfang to harass, and Commander Liu led his troops to suddenly surround the enemy, causing the enemy to collapse into an army, leaving the dead and wounded behind, fleeing back to Shengfang, and never daring to come out to harass again, and this battle also played a deterrent effect on Liu, Li, Huang, Yang and other puppet troops.
